Good Question can't find anything on the MOCO's site. The SESG did not list the heated grips and seat as the SEUC did. HMMMM

In case anyone else missed the obvious, the MoCo has really started getting cheap on these things.  First they stiffed the SERG crowd by eliminating lowers, tour pak, etc., while jacking the price up.  Now the SESG not only doesn't get a T-P or lowers, it gets the stock crappy mirrors and non-color matched inner fairing as well.  Lord knows what else they left off, while jacking the price up another grand over the SERG.

As for the heated grips, leaving them off the bike is probably doing the owner's a favor.  One less thing to cause a warranty visit to your friendly dealer.

First thing I'd have to do with a SESG would be to get rid of the inner fairing and those lousy mirrors.  Then I'd have to at least get a detachable chopped T-P (I use mine on the SEEG all the time), and eventually the lowers as well (there goes that fancy new crash bar).  Now you're looking at the CUSE price but without all the other stuff that comes on the CUSE.  No thanks.

I calculated 3 variations after my FLHRCI 103 quit: building up a FLHT, building up a FLHTCU or stripping down the FLHTCUSE - last was by far the most "cost effective" (German prices calculated!).

Hey Gerry, I just bought an 06 SG and I like the flat black inner fairing and mirrors.  Complements the Black Pearl paint.  Also, the SESG has a gloss black inner fairing which means HD did spend more that plain plastic there. Just chose black, whick is always easier to paint.

The Street Glide came out as a direct result of the interest in the 04/05 SEEG and is a stripped down version of the SEEG (no lowers, no tour pack, no garage door remote, etc.).  That's why I was hoping that it was going to be another SEEG in 2010.  Instead, they came out with the SESG.

I agree on the crash bar.......not sure what they were thinking there.  Just tryin to sell more parts after market, I guess.

I've got another option for you. Buy a compact, visor remote for your opener. Remove the visor clip. Use double sided tape to attach the remote to the underside of one of your glove boxes. Voila... automatic garage door opener installed on your bike for about $30.00. With a three button remote, I can open all three of my garage doors with a single remote (no additional parts to buy to operate other doors).

You beat me to it.  The only reason I have a Harley door opener is that it came standard with the bike.  If it hadn't, I would have done the same thing I did on my Dyna, install a mini transmitter for my garage door and a push button switch on the console to operate it.  I think the total investment for the mini transmitter and the switch was maybe $35, and it worked better and more consistently than the H-D unit on my current bike.  Hiding a transmitter on an e-glide would be a whole lot easier than it was on that Dyna.

From what I've read on-line, the automatic garage door opener is only standard on the CVO Ultra Classic Electra Glide.  Although, it is available as an add on from the H-D parts catalog.

As a side note.  If you do have the automatic garage door opener, do not purchase the Kriss Industries headlight modulator or the Pegasus Road Lamp Controllers.  These items from Kriss Industries interfere with the garage door transmitter on the bike and your garage door will not open.  Very inconvenient.  I notified the company about this, and the gentleman (I use that term loosely) I spoke with became very belligerent.  I tried to explain to him that I was merely notifying him of a problem with his product in order for him to inform other CVO owners about this problem should they contact him about his products.  Instead of accepting this feedback from his customer, he provided me with a lengthy dialog about Harley-Davidson mechanics not knowing anything about electronics, and then he hung up on me.  Good customer service?  I don't think so...
