Well all, looks like im going to bust 2k posts with this thread.
Got the new tires for the Grey Ghost mounted and installed just in time to leave for Sturgis. Took three days to get there from Nashville. went with some folks that I will Never take on a trip again. Next year I will be picky about who rides with us, anyway , enough on that.
Hit a little rain outside of Rapid City and then on in to SpearFish Canyon, where we stayed ay the Lodge. met my friends from Chicago. headed out Tuesday for the ride to MT Rushmore, Crazy horse , Custer Park. I never get enough of Iron mountain Road leaving Rushmore, I road it back up and down again alone while the rest snacked and that little gas station.
Wed rained all day but by friend from Chi Town had his Suburban ( used to pull his Trailer) and I told him if he took us all to Deadwood i would stop making fun of him. so off we went and had a great day.
Thurs. my wife and i headed out early alone, was 28 degrees in the Canyon, bike covers were froze to the tourpaks. went through Lead and down 385 and stopped at Trevino's Leather and guess who we ran into, Alligator Bob. was good to talk to him and his wife. we then went into Rapid City by way of Nemo road. outfiggin standing. Larryb gives this road 2 thumbs up. Made some good contacts at the the HD dealer in RC. getting the shop together. then we spent the rest of the day in Sturgis, it was nice to have a day for just the wife and I to shop. and shop we did. Blew about 5k on equipment and supplies for the shop, waiting for it all to get delivered, as soon as get the stuff back I'll let you all know who I am now a dealer for.
Started home Friday morning with winds gusts at 55 mph. was leaning all the way to Sioux Falls.
pulled in sunday afternoon and 4pm. 3500 miles. all bikes ran great, except for mine, it ran REALLY great. I love the SERG, now have 16,500 miles on it.
I'm looking for a house to rent in deadwood next year so if you know of one, help a brutha out.
