Has anyone actually tried this with a passenger yet?  I just switched mine around and I have a bad feeling "there's gonna be some splainin' to do Lucy".  I just have a feeling the little ladies are going to be resting the back of their legs on the saddlebag guards and it won't feel to good after about 5 seconds or less.

Anyone doing this procedure, remember what someone said above about hammering the allen tool into the head before trying to break it loose.  If you don't get it in there real good, you may round out the hole.  I wouldn't even have attempted to go further if I didn't have allen head sockets that I could hammer in there good.
My wife sat on it last night and she said she's ok with it.  We're heading out on a poker run today so that will be the real test.  I'll report back tonight on what she thinks.

First step in putting it all back together.  The bracket from the other side is bolted to the mount.  As you can see it is facing the opposite direction from stock.
:jack:  Nice clutch cover!  Where'd you get it? Got a part number???
Thanks!

I assume it must stock as it was on the bike new when I bought it.

The wife did not have any complaints after riding all day yesterday, so I am leaving it as is.  After riding all day I have to say that this is the greatest thing that I have done with the bike since I got it.  Never once did the floor board hit my calf making for a much more stable ride when coming to a stop.  I now have way more confidence with this big bike!!!!

Whoever came up this idea....Thank!!

My wife did. I also changed out the large head Zinc bolts that adjust the rear foot boards to chrome. I got mine from Chrome Hardware Supply in Arizona. Their phone no. is 480-832-1552  or  888-629-2476 . The size is 1/2-20 X 1 1/4 BUTTON SOC CAP SCREW.The part no is 50F125KBCPR. The head is not quite so flat as the stock ones and they look great. I also changed out the Zinc bolts that attach the fairing and added chrome washers,(I had to add an extra washer because the heads were slightly smaller than the stock zinc bolts 5/16-18 X 1 1/4 torx button head part no. 31C125KTXPR ),and the little black bolt just above the fairing mount also got changed out to chrome I got those at my local true value.( They have a tremendous amout of chrome hardware in in stock at all times) I can't find my receipt for those so I cannot quote the size, but you can always just pull one out and measure it. Between those bolts and a set of Hot Toppers and a few chrome bolts from HD. I got a lot of extra bling for not too much money and it was easy. Sorry about the no pictures, but I am in the middle of my Fulsac conversion. I will send some pictures when my work is done and bike is clean (silver 2009 SEUC) CAHDBIKER

I tried out the floorboard relocation today with my passenger.  I told her that I moved them and to let me know how it works out for her.  When she first stepped on, she said it was fine and then a few seconds later, she showed me that she used to put her heel over the back edge of the board so her foot wouldn't slip forward, but she could no longer do that.  She said that was fine, as long as I was more comfortable, being that I'm in the driver seat.  We probably rode less than 200 miles today and made at least 3 stops.  Even though I asked her several times if the positioning was okay, and each time she said she was fine, each time we got off the bike, she mentioned that she was thankful that we stopped, since her right leg was cramping up on her.  She didn't seem to recall about the floorboards being moved, or at least she didn't mention anything about moving them back, but I was on the lookout for any complaints, and she has never complained once about anything comfort related on a ride.  I'm going to give it one more chance with them in this position to see if this may have been an oddball day and she has no complaints next time.  If she is uncomfortable, I think I'll just switch them back whenever we are going any distance.  It's 4 quick bolts in and out, so the 5 or so minutes it takes to switch them back is well worth not having to listen to any complaining and ruin a perfectly good ride.

First ride at the weekend since I did this.  BIKE IS TRANSFORMED!  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:   If anybody - regardless of how tall they are - is wondering whether to do it, do it NOW! The is the best change I have made to my bike by a country mile, and it cost zero!  I was worried whether it would reduce passenger comfort, but she says no - doesn't even notice the difference.  But MY comfort and control of the bike is enhanced a thousand times over!  :orange:

Whover thought of this first, you're a genius!  Thanks!  :drink: :drink: :drink:

Ähm, I made the mistake to discuss with Madame and ask her how she likes it ...

But she's good sports and said: "I'll get used to it." Definitely it's less comfortable for her, that much was ähm, very evident  ;)

But as she's a cool cat she knows that safety is above comfort  8)

Their phone no. is 480-832-1552  or  888-629-2476 . The size is 1/2-20 X 1 1/4 BUTTON SOC CAP SCREW.The part no is 50F125KBCPR. The head is not quite so flat as the stock ones and they look great.

I got these bolts from them and they are much better than the stock ones.  Not only do they look better, but you can actually get an allen wrench in them.  I had to drill out one of my stock bolts since the head stripped out completely.  I had to move my passenger boards back to the stock position though.  My newest BSR has very long legs and she didn't like the position of the boards at all.  I'll have to find a shorter gal if I want to move them back out of my way again.

Thank you for listing the part # and the company contact info.  It was very easy to call them, give them a part #, and credit card #.  $1.00 each for the bolts and $2.00 to send them to me.  I had them in PA in 2 days coming from AZ.  That was much easier, and probably much cheaper than driving around trying to find anyone locally that would have such a bolt...and I doubt that I would have ever located them, especially in chrome.
