So I'm making the jump to a bike more "age appropriate" for these old bones. Like so many of the newbies introducing themselves, I too have a few months to wait for delivery of my 2010 SESG (Candy Concord) . I've been scooting around on a VROD for the last five years and have dumped all the money I could in personalizing my ride (see pic). Two months ago I treated myself for my 55th birthday by flying into Phoenix with several friends (all owners of Harley baggers) with the sole purpose of renting some touring bikes and hitting the road for several days. We rented from Hacienda Harley and all our bikes were 2009 baggers (some with as little as 500 miles on them)....I requested a Street Glide. Approx 1800 miles later (Tuscon, the Grand Canyon, Rt66, the Hoover Dam and Vegas) and 4 1/2 days later I was convinced I would never get on my VROD again. What a joy to ride...floorboards, radio, cruise control and a bike I ride more than 50 miles a day and be able to walk afterwards. Since my return from that bike trip I, like so many of you, have been waiting to see what models would garner the CVO emblem in 2010. Less than 8hrs after Harley posted their new model info on the internet I had money on the SESG. I have been on this web site ever since trying to learn the +/- of my new purchase and I already owe a great deal of gratitude to many of the members who have taken the time to share their knowledge on this site!
