2010 Head Pipes Different
« on: August 12, 2009, 05:04:44 PM »

Just got through talking to the Harley Shop. I was having V&H Power Duals put on my 2010 SE Ultra and they found that the O2 probs have been relocated and 2009 head pipes will not work. V&H told them it will be at least December before they will be availible. They also tried to bypass O2, not able to do that yet. Just thought everyone looking at new bikes would want to know.

I imagine you can use '09 pipes, plug the sensor holes, and use a PCV with O2 Eliminators. Any reason that won't work on these bikes?

V&H told me probably by October for headpipes. We will see I guess....

Different size O2 sensors on the new ones. You would have to change the bungs on the pipes.

Also, the new o2 sensors are heated now, and the pipe ends where they meet the heads have changes also....haven't seen the pipe off the bike yet, but, they are way different.
More than just minor changes for 2010!

Thanks for the replys. It does seem like more than just a O2 differance. I'm having the mufflers, fuel injectors and SERT done now. I'll put the Power Duals on as soon as they come available. Cost me a extra dyno but thats just the way it is.

Or you can have the dealer just do a basic performance map (stock headers, performance mufflers, and A/C) and run it that way until you get the header pipes put on then have it dyno'd...that's what I'm planning on doing with the SESG.

Pardon my ignorance on this one, but you are having the injectors replaced as well??  Haven't heard of too much of that. What type do you put in? If I'm gonna do a dyno run, that would be something to do in addtion to the exhaust and SERT.

The 2010 TBW models will use a different 4 wire sensor and will no longer use AFR tables, they are replaced with Lambda based fuel tables. Check out this thread over at HarleyTech Talk.
