New 5th Gear
« on: August 14, 2009, 07:58:28 AM »

I noticed that the 2010 transmission now has a helical 5th gear.   This after telling us the old straight cut 5th was for strength and needed to be that way.   Stange how things are always "normal" and then they slip in something different.

If you think it's the journey not the destination you don't live in Nebraska.

 :2vrolijk_21:     Absolutely amazing, isn't it?

I sure hope they beefed up the chintzy snap ring system at the trap door to handle the increased axial loads from that helical gear set.

Gerry, then what we would have to discuss and what would be a new feature for 2013?

They will discover a way to eliminate the "they all do that" clunk.
