SERG Paint Defect Question
« on: August 16, 2009, 07:42:03 AM »

My 2009 SERG (O/B) has dust/particle under the clear at the front of the fairing. You can see it as well as feel it. I went to my dealer and they took some pic's of it to send to the local HD rep. IYHO, what to do think the right customer service response should be from HD?
If they tell me they're going to try and fix it somehow, I'm not sure that's acceptable to me. . .

Thanks!

if you let the MOCO "fix" it, you'll not be happy with the results. better off doing it yourself, and it's fun too. I'd Claybar it and then do the 2 step glare process.

Larry

My Mustang got overspray on it.
Spent two hours claybaring it.
Then washed it with Dawn to strip the remaining wax.
Then did the two step Glare process.
I can now read the fine print on the garage door openor in the reflection and the entire car is slicker than owl chit.
It took a lot of time but the results were outstanding!

lets see the Mustang SBB

It's in the corner behind the scooters and Jen's Corvette.
We have a ride to go on in about an hour.
Will take some pictures later.

FYI, I have become a "Glare" addict.
It's good stuff.

I have a similar problem with my bag. There is a scratch under the clear coat. The dealer has not gotten back with me yet. Will keep you posted.

What is the two step Glare process?
 :pineapple:

Step1) Find detail that uses glare.
Step2) Hire detail guy.   :nixweiss:

What is the two step Glare process?
 :pineapple:

Step 0

This is before anything else is done.
Pop a top on a cold one and put 6 more in the freezor to be consumed as things progress.

Step 1

Paint is clean, apply glare and rub it in till it disappears.

Step 2

Apply second coat of Glare just like wax.
Remove when dry.

Edited, cause I forgot the most important step.
Thanks Larry!

A happy day!
