That's all I got out of it too! I would've never stopped for it! Stay legal speed and just keep going! They can't single us out! So F em! I ain't stopping! Let em come after me and pull me over. Did the same in Lake George last year and nobody came after me!!! FTRB's and FTC!!!

I agree with Hoist. and that jerk that was interviewed is a complete a hole!!!!
There was no just cause for that except to harass bikers from what I could see
from that video.

Like it or not, there would not be a push by non-riders to have motorcycles stopped for this type of inspection except for a few riders that use straight pipes or other obnoxiously loud exhaust.  I do not like the stops, but the only reason for them is because a few loud bikes irritate the cops and non-riders to the point where they try to do something like an inspection stop to cut down the noise.

I know, there are loud cars and trucks, too, one does not excuse the other. 

Somehow, we need to cut back on the irritating few so all the rest of us do not have to put up with stops like this.  I am not saying the stops are right or legal, just that they are a natural result of a few loud bikes pissing people off with noise.

Yes, I have the original factory exhaust on my CVO Ultra.

No excuse for targeting a 'class' of vehicle operators.  They should target the offenders, not a roadblock of specific class of vehicles.  That's no different than the profiling that everyone gets so upset about.... ....  aaaarrgh.  spyder

Sorry Bob! That's a buncha BS!!! This ain't about noise! It's about revenue! They see us as easy marks for revenue by singling us out for what they know EVERYONE does to they're bikes! These tickets aren't for drag pipes. They're for non-DOT helmets, and ANY exhaust that's not stock, and any other excuse they can find while they got us! You might be completely stock, but bear in mind, you're the minority here, not us with modified bikes!!! I just wanna be free to ride my machine.....!!! Sorry dude, FTC!!!

If this was about noise then they should be ticketing the freaking landscapers who start mowing on Saturday mornings at 7:30!!!!!

It's the same reason all the speed traps do better at the end of the month!!!!

Maybe everyone in N.Y. should make a BIG statement or protest by not participating in any fund raising events during the Winter. Public officials trying to figure out how to get their budgets to work seem to forget what the Motorcycle community contributes to the charity world etc...

There are a increasing number of towns in RI that are now trying to enforce a similar law. The town of East Greenwich has imposed an ordnance that the first stop fine is $500 and $1000 after that. The town fathers know that this will not stand up in court. They are just trying to drive bikers out of their yuppie town. F them. KB
