I'm still trying to get my arms around the idea of a good tech coming to your house, having all the proper tools and knowledge, and doing a great job at a major motor makeover right there in your garage.

And not offended by where you got the parts.

And charging a quite reasonable price, to boot.

Wow.  that is just plain amazing. :o 8-) :)

Now, THAT would be amazing!  Har!  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] spyder   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Yeah, 'er 'uh, spyder,
That concept is AMAZING to me!  A selective group of us could form a Delaware Corporation, or LLC, put up the capital,  recruit certified technicians by way of an attractive signing bonus and benefits, guaranteed wages for say, 4-6 months, then they would be compensated by an hourly wage higher than the Stealers pay, plus an earned productivity bonus.  Say, for "found work", or work they discovered in addition to the repair, or R&R at hand.  The Company would furnish transportation and expenses, the technician would furnish his own tools, which we would insure.  We would start out in the state with the most Harley registrations, which I think to be Ohio, and then grow according to demand.  It would take a substancial investment in the beginning to operate, but with the right people and management team, I think it would evolve into a very lucrative venture.  The need definitely pre-exists the idea.  Please advise.  I'm in, and open for discussion.  Later--HUBBARD

Boy, Hub, you got it all worked out.  The biggest problem that I could forsee would be a shortage of talent.  ie: technicians w/ the abilities, knowledge, multiple skills to be able to go into a situation alone and do the whole enchalata.  Most of the new techs take years to get to that point if they ever do.  Kinda like musicians, a lot will be almost adequate, but a few will rise to the level of artist.  [smiley=drummer.gif] That's where you'd probably have the most headaches, trying to recruite and maintain that level of talent.  But, hell, do it one at a time.... ;)....that's the way most of the chain enterprises start, huh?  What's OTIS and SRADER think?  :-/  Har!  spyder
