T-Bag Lone Star
« on: August 23, 2009, 11:21:46 AM »

Just bought the Lone Star T-Bag...After doing some reading online and here, this seems too be the right bag for me. I also have the chopped tour pac but I wanted something that I could take off the bike and carry into the hotel room..I will be leaving for Blowing Rock in a few weeks..Looks like the bag will hold alot more clothes than the tour pac..here some pic

Very nice set up. Sure hold more than a chop T/P. May look into something like this for my solo runs.

I used the Tbag when I was in the Mtns last weekend...10 pounds (Lonestar) and the Chopped tourpac was 33 pounds..very big diff in handling when driving the roadking. It had more room for everything than the chopped and things were easy too get too..(camera, cig, map, gloves, phone, etc) compared too the chopped...
heres some pics

I bought one this summer for my 08 SERK. We really like it.
Between it and the saddle bags you can easily carry enough
for 2 on any given trip and it rides well too.

The Lonestar is around 2.3 cubic feet..with the roll bag. I dont know how it compares too the king tourpac but heres what was in it when we loaded it for the mtns.. (6 pairs jeans, 6 pairs socks, 6 shorts, 6 short leave shirts, 4 long leave shirts and bath room stuff) that was inside the bag not including the 4 side pockets and the top roll and it was 3/4 full. You can buy a net too go over the t-bag for coats and other stuff. With the king tour pack you can add a rack on top and carry a whole lot more stuff than the t bag thats pretty easy answer too your question. But you can take the t bag into the hotel alot easlier and the bike is not top heavy for the 40 plus pounds from the king tour pac alone.

The King TP is 2.2 cubic feet so it's close. And yes....I know about the price.

Thanks for the info.

I also run with the same set-up when I’m on a long haul…

… and when I arrive at my destination I keep the roll bag on for day rides.  I love this set-up.

I have the T-Bag route 66 with roll bag and I like the setup, it's just that I am going to a solo seat, no passenger backrest and will need another solution. The only other thing was a bag that will go on the removable luggage rack, but it is a different bag completely. That's what got me started thinking tourpack.
