I had an 02 Fatboy that I changed the compensater gear and the clutch basket.  I think it was 1 less tooth in the comp. gear and one more in the clutch basket, or the other way around, to make it quicker off the line, but it turned more rpm's to make it less fuel effecient.

No throttle-by-wire Harley will ever launch hard out of the hole with the stock programming from the factory. By design, the TBW ECU restricts the throttle position so that even if you have the throttle at 100%, the ECU will only deliver a pre-programmed amount (60-80%), if you are operating at 3k rpms or less. The only way around this is to use the ProTuner to override these settings and essentially set all throttle positions to 100% of whatever the operator has the throttle position set to at all rpms.

Only then will you eliminate that soft response you feel when trying to take off hard from a light. Nothing like big brother watching out for you (or perhaps trying to reduce warranty claims by reducing drivetrain shock from hard throttle starts).

The MoCo wouldn't want you hurting yourself or the bike by trying to do a burn out:)

Hmm...my '09 Springer has two throttle cables coming out of the right handgrip.  I don't believe it has throttle-by-wire.   :confused5:

Well Dual, the cheapest would be to drop a cog...lower the gearing, just be prepared for higher rpms on the highway..

You could always just go out and practice, practice, practice and find out what works best for you and your set-up on this scooter.  A dragstrip would be a good controlled environment that could give you instant comparitive feedback on ea. attempt.  Keep up informed......maybe even with some pics.  We love pics.  :) har!  spyder

I dont have one.  The bike weighs in at 900+, me at 275 and Schmoops, well I believe her data is classified.

Anywho, 1100-1200 pounds and 80 horsepower, "launching" is still descriptive, however it is more akin to ship leaving port.

 ;D

Only having fun with ya.

Profiled cams(take your pick), flowed heads, tuned exhaust and adjusted tbw table may help get you somewhere.

A very BIG Ship with a broken prop.

I usually take everyone out of the hole with my tbw serg. I need more power after the whole.

I weigh 300 pounds plus my 900 pound bike. I run low 1.89 60 foot times. Rev it to just under the rev limiter and dump the clutch.

See how you are.......

That would require introspection.  I'm a guy.  So I'm not that deep.  Dammit.

Dood could though.

He's deep.

Or maybe that was full...

of something.

Always confused.

Because I'm not deep.
