Ok I see that it looks like there are two different bulbs listed here:

WLED-RHP5

WLED-X5

Is there a difference?   Anyone used a different color other than red?  Just wondering if the gauges its self is red...and if you changed colors was it the color your chose or was it a combination color...

Thanks,

Topper

Hey there Topper,

Glad they worked out for you.  I was and am very satisfied with mine.  According to the website they are offered in several different colors.  But any color other than red will not match the speedometer and tachometer.  Of course if you were really patriotic you could run red, white & blue ;D

The stock bulbs that you replace are a clear bulb with a red condom over it making the light red in color..
So if you put in the BLUE led's the out come would be BLUE.   However the Speedo and Tach are RED and you can't change them or at least
I could not see how to change them as they are sealed units.  NOT END USER FRINDLY.
I guess you could
                                WHITE       RED   RED       BLUE
                                   WHITE                      BLUE       :2vrolijk_21:

So basically I would order the bulb as a clear no tint bulb and place the red condom back over the bulb or should I just order the bulb in red?

The red condom will not fit the LED bulb, it is entirely different.  Take a look at the picture of the bulb on their website.  Buy the red bulbs!  Also with my big paws I had a little trouble reaching in to grab the bulb.  What I wound up using was a pair of forceps, but a pair of needlenose pliers would work fine as well.  One other tip, before you plug the replacement bulb back into the dash, turn your key on to see if it illuminates.  You never know when you'll get a bad one.  I did this for each bulb.  Get'em, you won't be sorry!

I know I have a SESG, but I thought things would be the same in the gauge light department as all of you guys, but I just took a pic in the garage with no lights on and no flash and it seems that mine look as bright when stock as the pics I have seen here after the bulb replacement. Maybe something changed on the 09/10's?

The 4 small gauges are back lit like the speedo and tach.

If the speed/tach are sealed units there is a vendor who can change the color.  Bluegauges.com did my VROD gauges 5years ago.  They crack open the cases, install the new LED's and then reseal them.  Changed my stock red gauges to a great looking blue.  I got great service and have had absolutely no problems since installed.  Check out their website...FAQs will answer most questions.
