FLHXSE w/fullsac 2.0" core and Cat removed
« on: August 28, 2009, 11:48:00 PM »

Just picked up my new FLHXSE and put just over 100 miles on in the mountains today. Had fullsac do the 2.0" cores and remove the Cats from the headpipe. Dyno'd before I picked it up. Here's the chart. Seat of the pants says "fantastic"!!!
Power every where. Got a great tune with excellent AFR #s across the board. Kind of hoped for around 95+HP, but must say this thing is stout. If you didn't know the numbers, you wouldn't think it could be improved on. Rode from about 5300 ft. to about 8700 ft. Just awesome. And, the sound is great to my ear.

Will post photos and more info in a day or two if I can ever stop riding. But, I promised I'd post the dyno chart as soon as possible for all of you who have been watching and waiting.

Steve @ fullsac, you're the man!

Are the 2" cores what fulsac recommends for this motor? How loud are they?

When I asked Steve at fullsac what to do, he said, 2.0", so that's what I did. Many posters here use the 1.75" and some of those still want to be quieter. I'm pretty happy with the sound, but remember I've only got 100+ miles on this bike.
I'll update when I have a chance to ride some.

Awesome news  :orange:

What were your numbers? (I know it's not supposed to be about numbers, but about the actual feel/performance ... just curious)

Did you go with a TTS Mastertune (or any other controller) as well?

You are the first one to do what many of us are waiting to do (either b/c their unsure about 'cross-talk' on their modded FLHXSE, or haven't taken delivery yet - like me). Thanks so much for filling us in.

Steve @ FullSac: Hope your ready Bro ... your about to get inundated with 2010 CVO's in the next few months (including mine).  :2vrolijk_21:

Yes--good question--what tuner did you use. If you went with Fullsac you most likely did a TTS--correct?

I used a SERT. Or, more precisely, my dealer did.
The numbers are 88.70HP and 104.06 ft lbs. but the curve's the deal...100 ft lbs or more from about 2800-4400. I posted the dyno chart with my original post.
And, yes, Steve better get ready.

OK for us "home mechanics" do you happen to know if the dealer did a custom/modded map from the Super Tuner database or developed on via the data logger?

I am considering The same thing except with Reinhart exhaust or coring the stock system. I was not impressed with the sound of the demo of the 1.75 baffles on the fullsac site. So I am glad you like the 2.0 ones.

The map was not from the database. The dealer did a total of six dyno runs to get the AFR right. AFR was set in 250rpm increments from 1500 - 3000 rpm then in 500 rpm segments from 3000 - 5000 rpm. Target was 14.1 to 3500; 13.6 @ 4000; 13.3 at 4500 and 5000. Idle is set at 1000 rpm with an AFR of 13.9.

That's a lot of dyno time. About 3-1/2 hours.
Hope this answers your question. I've got to say, I'm happy with the tune and the rideability is outstanding.

Thanks for the info!!!!

The AFR settings are interesting. and FWIW I agree with the 14.1 settings low end. I am wondering if he used the datalogger. It's such a great addition to the HD tuner system and I am hoping that it works real well.
