I wonder how they react with nitrogen... :P

That was my tipoff about some of their claims.  They also promote nitrogen, and they claim it works great with their beads.  They did, however, mention that when installing beads in old tires and wheels, you should dismount and thoroughly clean the interior of the wheel and tire.  It seems the beads don't like the compressor oil residue that may be in there.  Hmmmm, wonder how they fix that nasty water and oil residue problem in the future?  I know, use nitrogen and you'll never have to top off those tires with a nasty ol' compressor again. (Yeah, right.)   Since I plan to use helium, I don't see any of this stuff being an issue for me.  With the tires barely touching the ground, vibration probably will be the least of my worries.

Well, I bought them and used them on my 07, and was a convert.  I'd bought enough for two bikes, so I took the weights off on my 09, and installed the beads.  Front now vibrates like you wouldn't believe at over 90mph.  :(  I'm not giving up on them though, as they were good in the 07 - I'll wait and see if they settle down.

Jim
I bought some and tried them too only in the front tire. I left the weights on and went out for a ride, very smooth. Took the weights off (stick on) on the way back and it also shook above 90mph. I had the tape weight residue left on the rim so I knew where to put the weight back on. Went and rode it again and it was smooth. My tire has over 6000 miles on it. It said something about in certain instances you may need to have weights also, maybe I needed more beads, but I think I am done with the experiment.

It appears they may not work to well on tires that have miles on them.

They were great on my 07, which had thousands on the tyres before I installed them.  My 09 had less than 100 miles when I installed them, so I don't think that's the case.  I have 2oz of beads in the front, which is more than the weights that were on it.  I wonder if I need more beads.....

Seems easy to figure out...if the dealer has a spin balancer and is willing, just mount the tire and run it on the balancer with no weights and the machine will tell them how much weight to add.  Then instead of adding weight, just dump in the dynabeads and run it again.  If the machine says the wheel is balanced, I would say the beads are doing their job.  SKNZ

A tyre guy told me they couldn't do that - something about how the balancing machine does its job.

The mechanic who did my front tire with dynabeads did exactly that.
After installing the beads he ran it on the balancer and said it balanced out perfect.

The thing that sold me was having a front tire wear itself out of balance, not bad enough to warrant a new tire, just enough to need to have front tire removed and re-balanced,the beads find the sweet spot every time..  Convinced me..
Smooth as far as my speedo can get on all my scoots for years.

Ok, I have since gone about a thousand miles since I put the dyno beads in my front tire. It has smoothed out considerably. I was going to replace it because it was wearing weird, now it looks really good. Maybe there is something to these things after all. I did have to leave the weights on because when I took them off, it wasn't as smooth as before, I am running the weights that were on the tire when it was installed and the beads.

I heard the same thing, that the beads will take a worn tire that has started cupping and straighten it out. Has anyone had experience with this?

Picked up a vibration between 70-80 on the front. Not sure if it has anything to do with those POS ME880 Radials or not! But they're coming out and going back to the weights I think! :nixweiss:

Don't you think that's a little 'hasty'?  Might be something else causing the vibe........better wait before nixing the DB's so quickly.  I'm still loving 'em down in my Dunlops.  8) har!  spyder

Not really spyder! Nothing could be causing that except balancing. It's either the DB's or those POS ME880's! Can't tell which, but it's a PIA to remove em now. I can always add them to the Dunlops when they go back on, AFTER using weights and making sure everything's fine. I should'a done that with the Metzlers, but didn't. PIA testing that in the reverse order. ;)
