Help!!!!

Today I went and purchased the Billet Saddlebag Latch Faceplate Kit #90645-03 and need some assistance.

The MoCo decided that I only needed page 1 of instructions out of the 2 that should have been supplied. I have no idea what they were thinking when they did this as mechanically challenged as I am. I probably need them to break it down further and add a couple of sheets instead of not providing all the sheets required. Anyway below is a copy of the sheet the provided (1 of 2) >:(, and if anybody has the instructions for these that can provide them here in *.pdf form, or make a copy of them and email/snail mail them to me I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hey d00d!

Make sure you put that tiny little reflector on your bag guard.  Without it "Could cause injury or death"!

Why does MoCo put that stupid statement on everything?!

Polecat,

With all the glare from his chrome, I seriously doubt anyone could see that little reflector. ;)

Oh, the reason for the "death or serious injury" statement is simple.  In our over-litigious, it's never my fault society, these little statements, decals, etc. are simply corporate CYA's intended mainly for juries.  That, and the fact that those side reflectors are required of manufacturers by Federal safety laws.  Think of it as very similar to the "for racing use only" statement Harley has on things that will violate emissions / noise laws.  You know, the stuff they'll sell to anyone walking in the door, not just legitimate "racers".  I'm sure we all take that very seriously as well. ::)

'Course you are right.  Seems a bit silly after a while, though.  Took me a couple hours when I got my bike to get all the stickers and reflectors off.

I doubt my life expectancy was effected by much more than those two hours...

Don't have those bag guards on my scooter. Before I had the second page of instructions for the life of me I couldn’t figure out where those reflectors went. ;D

Who me, blind them w/chrome???? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Seriously isn't that what I’m supposed to do, baffle them w/bull chit, and blind them w/chrome! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Thanks for bringing this to my attention being that I don't have those bag guards on my bike and they didn't supply me any reflectors or alternative ways to add reflectors when I get hit from the rear side I can sue the MoCo. ::)

Wonder how long it will take the MoCo lawyers to read this and amend those instructions. ;D

Well hell Gary, you might as well get the whole 113" kit.  I'll find a place to rent a torch and I'll bring the big hammer with me!

I had thought about that, but figured if I bought all those parts I wouldn't have any place in saddlebags/tourpak for boxers and I have this friend that is trying his best to provide undergarments for me to wear. [smiley=nervous.gif]

Help again!!! Remember I said I'm mechanically challenged, but I know where to come get good help before I mess something up. ;D

I'm in the process of installing these and noticed that one corner of the new latches makes contact with the saddlebag lid when opening/closing. Has anyone had this problem, and what did you do to rectify it? I'm thinking maybe a flat washer between the bracket and the latch to raise it up/off the lid some? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I'm afraid if I don't do something it's going to scratch the paint off. [smiley=nervous.gif]

I think I remember someone had these latches and had this problem before, but I think I'm remembering the dealer installed them, and they (dealer) had to replace the lids.
