......I'm in the process of installing these and noticed that one corner of the new latches makes contact with the saddlebag lid when opening/closing. Has anyone had this problem, and what did you do to rectify it? I'm thinking maybe a flat washer between the bracket and the latch to raise it up/off the lid some? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I'm afraid if I don't do something it's going to scratch the paint off. [smiley=nervous.gif]....

With the help of Jim/hd-dude I was able to get these installed. Thanks Jim [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]
For anyone in the future that would like to install these latches beware that the MoCo produced a product that has the potential to scratch/mar your saddlebags. These particular latches are longer and could possible damage saddlebags when installed. I noticed in hd-dude's gallery there was a picture of him and his bike and he had them installed on his scooter so I gave him a call. He informed me that he had the same problem and had noticed it more so then not when he installed these on others bike. His remedy and what I used was went to hardware store and picked up some #6 nylon washers. You will need to insert the washers on the top two screws between the new latches and the hinge mechanism for the saddlebags (for reference purposes these will be the only screws that you see when the saddlebag is closed on the billet latches). I first tried just placing one washer on each screw but it didn't move it away enough so I ended up using two washers on each screw, which gave me enough clearance, and the latch doesn't touch saddlebag now. I did this on the other saddlebag from jump street and this gave me more room then the other side (go figure that these parts (saddlebag or latches don't have the same clearances

). This was the only thing different that needed to be done on install, and you can follow the instructions provided for everything else. DON'T FORGET THE LOCKTITE!!
Hopes this helps anyone that is planning on installing these in the future.
Wouldn't it be nice if the MoCo saw this and realized there was a design flaw and either mill back some of the latch before chroming, or add these washers in the kit (cost was 4/$.56) so we wouldn't have to worry about this.
