I used the adapters from Throttle-up Industries. Great fit and detailed instructions. Will do on duty today and hope to put it back together tomorrow, Here is their web site. http://www.throttleupindustries.com/

Their website indicates that the rings do not fit RoadGlides. I am awaiting a call back from them before ordering. You seem to be proof that either the website is out of date or the adapter rings will fit a RoadGlide.

UPDATE: Aaron called from Throttle-Up and confirmed the availability of the adapters, which I purchased from his eBay store, website will be updated this weekend. :2vrolijk_21:

My experience has been that round speakers typically perform better than their oval counterparts.

I think thats a stretch considering the listening environment of a motorcycle. I used to do high end stereos in boats and what i found is the more power and the more speaker cone volume the better it worked !  Its the same with a motorcycle. In a more refined environment ( like a car) the round delivers a cleaner sound. On a motorcycle, our stereos go real fast with alot of wind noise, alot of exhaust noise and all of our cheering fans !!   :huepfenjump3:   eather way would be a fine choice over the 5 1/4s from the factory with a good amp and a clean signal ( ipod, cd, xm radio ) with that all being said if there is room for a bigger speaker its the winner  :2vrolijk_21:

It's not a stretch at all. If oval speakers were better, they would be the standard.  They were developed for applications where a round speaker of adequate size would not fit. However, as you note, the difference between the round and oval speakers may not be realized on a motorcycle.

As far as the RideLoud 6 x 8 adapters, from what I have seen, they do not provide an adequate seal around the speaker to isolate the front from the rear. Note the gaps on the left and bottom of the adapter in the attached image.

I used the foam tape that came with mine to seal around those spots, I agree that without it, some sound escapes, I also used dyna mat to further seal. Mods is mods

Look, if you look at the 6.5" ring adapters, 1/3 of the speaker is blocked. And its only exiting out a 5.25" hole. So in a sense, you're only getting a 5.25" sound out of a 6.5" speaker. My adapters give you the full power of a 6x8. Yes, there are spots where a small outer part of the speaker isn't in the opening. But look at the size of the opening compared to the 6.5.....No comparison! Plus, the 6x8 is smack dab in the middle of the grill opening. ALL POWER pushing through the opening. I'll put my bike or any of the bikes out there, that have my system, up against those 6.5"'s any day.

just started the install of my Focal 61/2 speakers and Bazooka 200 watt amp. Very nice install so far.  :orange: :bananarock:

Is that the amp sandwiched between right glove box and the inner fairing wall?  Can you get just the Bazooka amp?

Next question.  Where can I find the amp?  Everywhere I have looked they only offer an amp and speaker package.  I just need the amp.  Any help would be appreciated.
