More lights on a 2007
« on: September 09, 2009, 10:03:39 AM »

After studying my tour pac, I realized the vertical corner seams would be good places for adding LED strips.  It turned out that it is just over 4 1/2 " from the closed lid to the horizontal seam towards the bottom.  A Radiantz 30-LED flexible strip is 4 1/2".  I followed the instructions elsewhere in this forum to connect the strips inside the tour pac for running and brake.  The red covered LEDs add just enough contrast to break up the solid black tour pac.  Everyone who has seen them has really liked them.

The first picture was unlit.  Here is a picture lit but in the morning sun.  They really do show up much better live than in this picture.

Nice job.  Others have put a 10-12" strip below the leather tourpack but this is the first I have seen like this.  A taillight is not enough light for me either on the back.

Which make me wonder what they were thinking with the 2010 reg Street Glide and 2010 Road Glide Custom that doesn't have a rear light.

You got it.  Betcha a "rear light upgrade package" for the SG shows up in the next accessory catalog...
Some say I'm too cynical.  LOL

I'd be happy to but I'm packing and headed to the Hot Springs Rally as soon as I leave work.  Not sure I can get any more pics posted until after I get back.  Thanks for the compliment.

Here are the close up pix requested.  First- unlit (ignition off). Note I did not drill any holes in the TP- I ran the wires over the top and secured them with black duct tape on the inside under the liner.  The wires don't show with the lid closed and I wasn't ready to do any drilling just yet.
