Hi Everybody
I am going to a solo seat look on my 2007 FLHRSE3 and I posted about the ugly washers but also want to know if there is anything that can be done about the air shock wires showing out from under the seat and along the sides?
Thanks

Those are actually air lines you use to pressurize the shocks.  There is something you can do with them.  Remove them.  Though not on their own.  The stock shocks from Showa aren't anything to brag home about.  Several aftermarket alternatives that are much better products that are not air shocks.  So if you change shocks you can remove the air lines along with the old shocks.

What do you recommend that doesn't break the bank but are better than stock without ugly lines hanging out?

Thought so from the studs. I am looking to get the plain solo for my SESG. It is between that one and the Corbin.

You'll love it, in my opinion it's the most comfortable seat out there, I know a lot like Corbin's they are very nice looking but I don't feel as comfortable on them

If it's not an air shock it won't have the air lines.  So that part is simple.  Of those most commonly discussed and used (Progressive, Works, Bitubo and others) the Progressives are likely the least expensive.  Having said "least expensive" doesn't mean they're cheap though.  Good bike shocks are stupidly expensive.  Set of Progressive 440 IAS is probably $450 or so.  The others cost more.  Sure you don't think those air lines are cute?

I wanted a closer fitting, lower profile. Of course I only use my solo (Corbin) for the street and revert to my 2-up (also customized) for my road trips. Here's a picture of Corbin's classis solo, ex-backrest feature, as installed. Note the close fit.

As indicated, Corbin's solo (classic solo) actually cover's the OE mounting bolts/hadware and as such, you don't see them. If using the backrest feature, it latches in between a parting in the rear bolster and seat pad (as to the OE HD seats). I think its a cleaner look than the Mustang seats.

Corbins are firm, so if your looking for a cushion this type seat may not be ideal for some riders. It is on the otherhand, comfortable an does not have a tendency to settle or bottom out when ridden for longer periods as so many other seats do.

BTW  - IMHO, I don't think anyone pays notice to the air shock air-lines other than us owners. I agree, HD could have done some better engineering here but OK, it is what it is...beside, they are behind you and the wind....just ride it.

I'm not sure about this, but here at work we have the poly line assortments of various hose sizes and this is one size that's on our roll.

This is the part I'm not sure about, I think this is the same size the GM used on the El Caminos for their air shocks.  If so just about any parts store will have the stuff.  The connectors used by HD are just a finger push IN on the outboard orange ring and pull out on the hose and it will just pop right out.  With a couple feet of this stuff from a parts store you can route it wherever you like and retain the air shocks without buying new shocks without the hoses.  This hose shouldn't set you back more than a couple bucks.

Good luck.
