leaking brake fluid near rear brake resevour (sp?)
« on: September 14, 2009, 01:59:51 PM »

Initially thought it was the just changed oil filter - pretty sure it is as decribed in the thread title.

On my way to England (work) for a few days and wanted to post a quick note to get opinions/comments.

2009 flhtcuse5 - 11,500 miles.

Comments/thoughts please - thanks

If it is you better get it stopped because it will eat up all your engine paint and other painted items. Check the torque on the reservoir screws.

Now I have to stop traveling (work - now in Chicago) and enjoy Fall riding season

Glad they caught it and fixed you up. As the OP pointed out, if it'd been DOT 4 flying around it can do irreparable damage to finishes.

FWIW, the Brembo reservoirs are extremely sensitive to torque. Too loose they leak, too tight they leak as the bellows gets distorted around the screw holes. Screw 'em on 'just' snug using fingertips only on the screwdriver and you'll be in the ballpark.
