Question about Corbin solo
« on: September 15, 2009, 12:18:55 AM »

I ordered an Corbin solo in grey snake skin for my bike on Thursday. My bike is orange/black and now im thinking that the grey might not look good. Anyone seen a grey on the O/B?

On long trips, I like to push myself up from the highway pegs with my back on the rest. This really helps when my butt falls asleep. I weigh 300+, is the Corbin backrest sturdy?

no, grey snake won't look good on the O/B, but it looks kickazz on the silver

the backrest is solid, though I'm 190

They're rarely that quick at Corbin.  If order just went in last Thursday not likely it's built yet.  Definitely call them if you want to change it.  Losing a work order's place in line is a lot better than buying a custom seat you think will look bad on the bike.

They actually finished and shippied my seat the day after I placed the order. I have Poker run starting tomorrow and they put a rush for me. UPS tracking says Ill get it today. After all the comments about bad customer service I was really surprised at how friendly and acomadating they actually were.

Well... I got the seat on. The color is OK but I will probably switch to black. What I am not very happy about is the change in position. I sit at least an 1" higher probably closer to 2". I also sit the same amount foward now.

I dont understand. They must have sent me a closer version.

There's usually a Corbin part number on the bottom of Corbin seats.  Check there to see if the seat pan is for one of their "close" versions.  Their "close" seats are really close though.  I'm a short guy.  Only between 5'9" and 5'10" and the "close" seats are way too close for me.  Eat-off-my-knees close.  So it's worth making very sure what you're starting from before asking them to alter it.

You really think so? Im 5-11 and reach flat footed with the stock seat. I lowered the bike and now flat foot with my knees totally bent.

With lowering brackets. It rides rough but is easily reversable. There are NO curves in Miami but when I go to the curves i'll take them off.
