seeg end cap questions
« on: September 15, 2009, 10:26:05 PM »

One of my endcaps is losing chrome as you can see.  I went to the FLHTCSE2 model parts catalog and the part number listed is 65063-04.  Ordered the part, came as a smooth endcap without the billet/double groove.  My question is, did the 2005 SEEG come with a stock billet/double groove end cap as pictured, or was it otherwise(I bought the bike used)?  What is the correct part number for the billet endcap on my bike?  Thanks.

The one in your picture is a Screamin Eagle billet aluminum tip.  They are still available (in this years P&A catalog).  I have them on my SEEG and one of them has a few small pits already.

With the looks of that peeling chrome, I'd be inclined to have both existing caps re-chromed with some good 'show-chrome' and be done with it if they were the caps I liked and wanted to continue to run.  Much better looking/lasting chrome than buying new ones and the cost would probably be less.  ;) spyder

The original end caps were smooth chromed steel.  You most likely have the SE Pro mufflers, not the O.E. mufflers.  See cut 'n paste attachment from '06 SE Pro Catalog.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions.  I decided to take Spyder's advise and rechrome.  It was cheaper and looks great.
