LarryB, not sure what you mean by the RT module?

Should have something that looks like this...

This is the interface that communicates w/the SERT software to your ECM.

As long as you have that then adjustments can be made to the software. :2vrolijk_21: You will need to take that with you to have the "tune" adjusted. If you're not aware that module is a very important piece to the SERT software.... w/o it you can not make any changes to the ECM, and that module is married to your ECM, and can not be used on any other bike.

Understood, don't mean to come across as totally lost, but I just got the Bike on Monday, from a Harley dealer in Scottsdal Az, and this is the first SE I have ever owned, had the Twinn 88 many years with out an issue ever. If they do have to adust the tuning, do I have to have the dyno done again?

When comparing the SE 103/110's to TC 88 they all will put off more heat.. However a good tune will cut down on some, but still there will be more heat w/them over a TC88. Unfortunately that's just the way it is... maybe your bike doesn't need a tune and what your wife is experiencing is just what is "normal" heat from what she's been used to on the TC88. :nixweiss:

That was my first thought, when she said something, what see is feeling does not bother me at all, I did notice a slight increase it heat, but as you said the 103, put off a little more heat, but I expected that. I did remove the lower fairings this evening, to see if that will help her any, I'll find out this weekend. When she first said something about the heat, I did check the oil temp, I thought if the bike was running hotter than it should, maybe the oil temp would show this, I checked it right after a climb through the local mountains here in the valley, and it was at 220. which I didn't think wsa to bad at all.

Since you mentioned oil temp something else came to mind... If you're still running H-D Syn3 in the bike (or that was in it when you got it) you may want to think of switching to a better lubricant (Amsoil, Mobil1, Redline). Many (myself included) have done this and it's reduced "some" heat, and more importantly they are better lubricants then "Syn3".

Yea it came with the Syn3, I'm a Amsoil user myself, tried the Mobile Vtwin, didn't like it has much as the Amsoil.

Amsoil user here also. :2vrolijk_21: This could help w/some of the heat, but it really doesn't sound like you have a tune/excessive heat problem more so then it's just her getting used to the heat produced by these motors. You can try those heat shields you mentioned but I'm not a big fan of them due to the fact (IMO) they are trapping heat around the motor in order to keep heat off the rider. :nixweiss:

Do you think the removal of the lower fairings will help some? Local HD guy told me today, Harley recommends removal of them for riding in temp range of 60 and above. Your thoughts?
