The SE cam plate, unneeded and potential problems
The 400s need very special valve train mods to work right. Geometry and springs are a few that come to mind. I made 115 with my 95 using them at 11/1

10.5 is fine for these cams. The heads do need special preparation to be sure they actually work at that high lift and that the geometry is set for that and the springs are correct. These elements and parts are included in our Pro Street Head package.

Stock lift is .5 for discussion purposes. Now you are at .650, .150 over. Uncorrected the rocker tip would not sweep the valve correctly with stock or roller rockers. This is fixed with the Pro Street head work and springs are used that can run there and control the valves. Some of what we do is proprietary and I don't want to get too detailed. Suffice it to say that  if you don't set up the heads properly for cams such as these with this much lift they will lead a short life, not make good power and the motor will be very noisy. Also many heads, especially the shiny budget heads don't breath there, more specifically over about .525 lift so the benefit of a cam of this stature is wasted. It is a good cam and I don't want to sound negative, I am not. Give me a call and we can discuss a plan to make it work.
Thanks

I thought the stock cam lift on these 110 motors were around .555. What lift can you go with without having to change the geometry of the heads and expect a quiet motor?

Harley did nothing to the SE110 ACR heads. Same setup as the stock casting except for heavy springs, which works fine with .555 lift. The factory changes nothing even when they use a SE .635 lift cam in their kits but that does not make it right. And the SE264 runs noisy typically.
It isn't really a fair comparassion to compare this Woods cam with most other grinds because it has a very fast lift (and close) rate. This particular grind is one of the extremes because of the very short duration and the .650 lift. When the heads are not prepared properly guide wear is accelerated, noise increases and valve action is not uniform and as intended. Mid lift needs to be centered on the stem. Woods offset rockers are also a help when the most extreme lift cams are used.
I change geometry when the cam used is over .600 lift but lower lifts can benefit too in some cases.
