USAF '91-Present. Vandenburg AFB>Osan AB "Red Horse"> Patrick AFB >Weekend Warrior @ Homestead ARB and plenty of places in between.

4 years in the Air Force 1978- 1982. I was at Mather AFB in Sacramento for 3 - 1/2 years. 320th Bomb Wing. I was an aircraft Electrician on B-52G &
KC-135 tankers. Went TDY for 3 month during the Iran Hostage crisis and went to Guam , PI, Okinawa & 39 days in Diego Garcia. Those were some great years looking back.....  :biker: :biker: :biker: :drink:

4 years in the Marine Corps as a Field MP.  Remainder has been Commissioned time in the Army as a 21B, Engineer in the Indiana NG.  2 Combat tours to Mosul.  All of 2005 with the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat team under 25th Infantry Division, later 172nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team.  Arrived in Mosul about 1 week after the chow hall bombing in 2005.  2LT then Platoon Leader, led over 300 combat missions.

This second tour began in Aug 2009 under the 7th Cavalry, 130th Engineer Brigade.  CPT Now Commanding.  So far so good.

We where at Mather the same time, although I was on the other side of the base.

BM2, us navy, 1970-76. both my brothers were navy as was my dad, LT COMD in ww2 and korea. grandfather was army in ww1.

A great website for anyone who has served in the military, www.togetherweserved.com. Choose your branch, fill out your profile with dates and duty stations and it will gather all the names of others who were at the same places during that time. A great way to catch up with old buddies.

Enlisted 73, Seabees, Rosy Roads, Diego Garcia, Fun ? NOT.  Wound up getting in a West Pac cruise before I left in 77,  that was fun, at lease what I can remember.    :drink: :drink: :drink:

 :drink: 39 day in Diego Garcia sucked at the time. I got there it was hot and sunny! They told me to be careful because you could get a sunburn in an hour. Second day there monsoon season started and as I remember it rained almost non stop the rest of the time I was there. We lived in plywood shacks with screen windows and everything got damp. We had cold outdoor showers and a out house with 50 gal drums cut in half and some JP5 jetfuel in them to kill the flies! We only flew one day a week so after preflight each day we were free to do whatever. That was getting drunk and I mean out of your freaking mind drunk. The rest is a blur but we made the best of it. When I finally got relieved I had to fly to Okinawa  because Guam was having a Typhoon. I got some much needed relief there! I guess to look back it didn't seem so bad, but at the time it was Miserable..... :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :bananarock: :

I was a Major, Squadron Commander in the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps (RCAC), retired last year after 27 years of service to the Canadian Forces, the people of Canada and Her Majesty, the last 8 years working at National Defense HQ in the Information Managment Group... retired on Fri as an Major, showed back up at work on Monday as a Mr.  Now a happy public servant doing the same old same old :D
