Mastertune 09 S/E Roadglide
« on: September 19, 2009, 03:58:21 PM »

Greetings,   Nothing earth shattering but in 15mins.  I made my 09 S/E Roadglide a brand new bike.   I had previously installed a stock 09 header and 1 3/4 Fullsac baffles.  The bike ran better, sorry no dyno, but not great.  Sounded a little funny, tinny I guess would describe it but not bad.  Talked to Dave at Fullsac and ordered a Mastertune and usb cable.  They also emailed me the magic Fullsac Stage I download.   Fast friendly service.  I had already read the instructions 50 times so it litterally took me 15mins. to perform the upload and the new download.

The first thing I noticed is that it sounds different!!!  It now sounds nice and deep like a Harley should sound.  Must have something to do with a richer mixer but it just sounds better different.   I have also put 300 miles on it and it is a new bike.  This is how the damn thing should have run when I plunked down my $29,000.  Much better throttle response, smother idle and cruise, and, again no dyno, but it really pulls now.  Much more fun to ride.   Thank you Fullsac & Mastertune for your stuff!
Makes you want to punch somebody at HD in the chops.  Once for the poor performance of the stock bike and maybe again for the whole seat deal that they know about and refuse to address.   :drink:

I just installed the Fullsac stage 1 kit in my SERG with the 2" cores and its like having the best bike I've ever owned. The sound is what I've been looking for the low end rumble (but not loud).  The responce from the bike has improved a 100%. Next week I'll be installing the same system in my wife's SERG.  David with Fullsac help me with the sale and my selection on the cores after talking to him about what I was looking for. The guys at Fullsac are #1  with service and products!!!! :huepfenjump3:

I switched between the 2" and 2 1/4" Fulsac several times and there is a marked improvement up top with the bigger pipe.  :drink:

to get the full benefit out of the Mastertune, you really need to do the V-Tune process.

I too am a Fan of the fullsac baffels and TTS matster tune with his map.  Been running since April.  I am seriously looking to add the Andrews 54 cam that fullsac does with his map over the winter.

Yep, did the same thing: I installed the 2" Full Sac baffles in stock 09 SERG pipes, then removed obstruction in head pipe, and installed Full Sac map with MasterTune. Had some issues loading software on laptop, then had issues downloading updates. I was pissed!!! Started emailing and calling Full Sac during the weekend. Once all of that was behind me it was easy to program the ECM. Only rode it 1 mile, started raining again, (North Atlanta) but could tell a big difference. It starts better, sounds better, and throttle response off of idle is quick and crisp. We're Headed to the Thunder Beach Fall rally in Panama City Florida day after tomorrow. I'll know more about the performance i.e. fuel mileage, cylinder temperature, overall power, smoothness, and accurate speedometer reading, after riding it down there. I'm sure it'll be all the great things I've already read about on this forum, and on the Full Sac website. But one thing is for sure, Steve and David at Full Sac are customer service oriented, very responsive to email and phone calls. It was the weekend and I still heard back from Steve, several times!

I have the Fullsac 1.75 baffles/Jet-Hot coated stock bike header with original breather and Steves program in my TTS. Great results, never had it on Dyno but it runs good. Got 46 MPG to & from Key West this weekend and that inc 3 90 MPH blasts and 1 100 MPH blast to pass cars on the two lane.
I am going to put the Andrews 54 in like he recommends with the thinner headgaskets week after next and once again use his MAP.

Steve @Fullsac, good guy doing quality stuff.

Just curious, but why aren't any of you guys doing the V-Tune?

after you load Mastertune on the laptop, you basically set up the program to tune to your specific situations, ie, bike, no two bikes are exactly the same, your riding style, and your location factors. it gathers alot of info and you blend them and load into your ECM. when you load a stock map or one that has been done by others, it may not be right for you and your bike. if you do a good V-tune, you can tune your bike to about 98% of what a dyno can do. all the info is in the help files.
lets say you use one from Steve George- fullsac- his set up is out in AZ, lower elevation then here in TN, will be different, maybe not alot but different still.
I have researched this with DOC who teaches dyno tuning with Mastertune and with Steve Cole who is the Guru of mastertune. both say V_TUNE, thats the beauty of the product.

I live at sea level in Florida, MAP supplied works very well. I keep thinking I will put the laptop in the tourpak, hook up the cables and try the V-tune but time has been short lately. Maybe before Biketoberfest one sunday morning....
