How many have taken their Mom's for a ride?
« on: September 20, 2009, 06:54:55 PM »

My Mom of 79 years of age on the back of my 2004 Harley!  First time it was 4 years ago age 75 and now can't keep here off the back of the bike!  My wife and I look at getting a side car for the softail, but Mom had other ideas!  She said ain't no reason for that, " When I wanna go for a ride I'm gonna tell you let's go for a ride"  And so we have been doing so.  This 2004 Heritage is at our house up in Wahington State where mom has been living at!  She is a cool lady and full of life!  Enjoy!  :orange:

That's great! I wish my Mom (for that matter my Dad too!) were still around so I could take her. I know they would both enjoy it....Have fun! :2vrolijk_21:

My Mom don't ride with me but my Mother-In-Law loves my bike. Sorry no pics but when she hears me pull in the drive way she run to put her shoes on. At 85 years old that chick is a biker.  :orange:

Too late for my mom, who passed away this summer - although she always hinted at wanting to ride with me.  She was too overweight, too weak, and had no equilibrium, so it would have been disastrous for both of us.  One of my granddaughters and my grandson both love to ride with me, however.

I did......years ago, before she passed.  Had to get her a little tipsy first, but she had fun. :2vrolijk_21:  I think it's impossible to not enjoy the freedom feeling that two wheels gives you.

I reminded her that I was six years old when one of her friends took me for a ride on his panhead.  I never forgot exactly what that bike looked like or smelled like (burining oil).  I would stand and stare at that bike for who knows how long, every time he'd come over to the house......probably day dreaming. :nixweiss:

This year she got some severe problems
with her heart but is recovering very well
at the moment. I'm still trying to persuade
her to ride on the SERG as well. If i succeed,
I'll post the pics. I will take my chapter-friends
with him, so she will have a lot of bodyguards.

Here is my Aunt Mary.  84 years young.  Had her own HD and rode it throughout the 50's and 60's.  In 1951, she rode on the back of an HD from Van Nuys, CA to Daytona Beach, FL... and back!  This was before rear suspensions!  This pic was taken one half hour after we buried her husband of 50 some years.  At the conclusion of the service in Grass Valley, CA, I went to give her a hug and condolences.  Her reply, "Are we going for a ride now?"  We did for about 45 minutes.  Now that's a "biker!"
