Something nice for a change
« on: December 09, 2005, 03:21:14 PM »

All   I wrote this after my last long trip. It may be a shock to some of you used to the big city smack I usually write, but this is me too  Merry Christmas to all

Somewhere out on the road lies the past. Waiting to be relived and remembered. Awakened by a smell a sound a fleeting thought. Warm and wonderfull of cherished moments long forgotten. I ride many miles drifting about. Never quite certain where I am going or why. In the end I am rewarded for my aimlessness with vivid memories of a wonderful life lived.
Somwhere out on the road lies the present. New and exciting, pulsing with life. In my face whether I chose so or not. I ride many miles through never before seen countryside, cities and towns. Soaking up each moment, each new place, each new face. While the past is nice to revisit, there is nothing more exciting than the present. Nothing more alive than living the moment
Somwhere out on the road likes the future. Filled with promise, hope and desire. To be what I make of it, what I chose it to be. Fulfilling, rewarding, helpful of others. I ride many miles drifting about. Never quite certain of where I am going or why. Only that life is out there waiting to be found. Somewhere out on the road.

That was Excellent!   What a great lead in to the weekend!

It reminds me of a saying I saw in one of those thing-a-day calendars, that stuck with me:

The past is history, the future is a mystery, the current moment is a gift, that's why they call it "the present".

Enjoy it while you can!  Spidey's got it right!   8-)

Yeah, 'er 'uh, SEUC-OCD,
The way I heard it was, if you've got one foot in Yesterday, and one foot in Tomorrow, you're pi$$in' on Today!  I live everyday as it is my last one!  WFO!  Later--HUBBARD

Sounds a lot like the mottos I live by, "One Day At A Time", and "Just For Today".
Life is like a parking lot. If you try to go backwards, you get severe tire damage.
