My wife had her 30th year class reunion the second week of September and I took this as an opportunity to take a little solo trip. We live in Louisville KY and the reunion was in Cowan TN. Cowan is at the foot of Monteagle Mountain on HWY 41.
She was part of the organizing committee and she had to be there a couple of day before the actual reunion. If I would have hung around, it would have been way too much like work.
So my destination was farther south. I traveled through Trenton GA and I wanted to stop at Cloudland Canyon, but I did not have the time. Other points of interests or small towns were: LaFayette, Chattahoochee National Forest, Villanow, The Pocket, Lake Marvin, Sugar Valley, Calhoun, Adairsville, Pine Log, Fairmount, Carters Lake, Chatsworth, Fort Mountain, Ellijay, Cherry Log, Blue Ridge, Morganton Point, Blue Ridge Lake, Monteagle Mountain, and University of the South.
This was my first multi-day solo trip, all-in-all it wasn’t bad. I stopped when I wanted to, I left when I wanted to, I stayed as long or as short as I wanted, ate when and where I wanted, and not one bit of drama (hard to imagine…).
Put a little over 1100 miles on the bike and had a great time. Some of the days were a little overcast, so the photos are not the best.
