Allen bolt heads on stock mufflers
« on: September 23, 2009, 07:52:08 PM »

What is the standard procedure with removing the stock baffles in regards to the stock Allen bolt heads ?

They have a dimple in the middle of the Allen head

I would like to get in there and have a look around

I was under the impression the stock mufflers had the baffles welded in. :confused5:  What model bike are we talking about, and what type of pipes?

If you are talking about a tamperproof screw or bolt with an internal hex (Allen) that has a pin sticking up in the middle (see picture below), then all you need is the tamperproof bit to match that particular size hex.  It will have a hole in the middle to accomodate the pin.  You may find what you need at an auto parts store, since they sell tamperproof license plate fasteners and similar items.
