Thats what the cops are for and as far as the bolt trick how about when it bounces off his roof and hits my grandmothers windshield who is another 50 yards behind the dip sh-t its intended for and she wrecks and then the "bolt" who has no home is on the freeway on the yellow line waiting for a car or truck to churn it up again and end up in a nice bikers face or his old ladies!

Dont get me wrong I'm a hot head and some that ride with me feel a little nervous when I'm tailgaited I take more of a hands on approach,I try to give them the benefit of the doubt and flash the brakes a couple times, if it doesnt work I'll slow down 5-7 mph to make my point with my left hand in the "what the f--k pose" and if this fails I wait for a somewhat of a safe open zone and flash my brake lights and come to a complete stop and I'm off the bike and in some face in a matter of seconds, if they flash around I'm on some ass with the brights on leaving the most crazed experience I can deal out. Some may say roadrage isnt the answer but I try to play the very edge and hope they dont have a concealed weapons permit as I do, but a little scare goes a long way, A BOLT in someones face is the gift that keeps on giving, most times not to the intended a-shole its intended for..

I'm not saying what i do is right, but I'm not setting traps for anyone else to stumble on..
Single-most thing that ticks me off in a milli-second instant, is when someone is tailgating me so close I can't see their license plate in either of my mirrors. The worst part of this is, they don't even have a clue they're doing something dangerous. I like the idea of the ball-bearings over the shoulder, but you're exactly right... it's not going to stop on the idiot's car. I usually shake my head in disgust a couple times. If they don't get it, then I slow down a tad and wave the left arm. If they still don't get it, then I patiently watch and wait for the next redlight. I'm in the front, so I can usually time it just right.

Good... the light's red. Bike in neutral, kickstand down (driver's window's usually going up, right about now), ignition off, and proceed to walk back and give a majorazz-chewing.  But of course, you have to pick your battles. I'm not going to deliver the same message if there's a car load of troublemakers, but I'll let them know they're in the wrong. And get their plate number, it's usually some shirt-n-tie on a damn cell phone, who stares straight ahead like he can't even hear you.. Probably whizzing on his leather seats too..

I know how this feel it has happened to me.

That is why I take only one philosphy PULL OVER wait a minute or two and then proceed.  I don't give myself any other options because Life is way to short to put myself in danger by teaching someone in a 2 ton vehicle a lesson on a motorcycle.

I HAVE NOTHING TO PROVE - I KNOW WHO I AM so I PULL OVER.  My wife, kids, family and friends need me and they are what I think about when this happens.  Yes, there are times riding when I get pissed and would like to do something (guns, grenades, smoke screens and oil slicks come to mind). I ain't NO SAINT but it is not worth it.

I want to feel the wind in my face for a long time and True FREEDOM is not letting someone else take my serenity away.

Well said. When I was a little younger I have jumped out of a couple of cars and ran my mouth a time or two. Now I think about my wife and my 2 kids and keep my cool.  These people don't respect anyone on the road.

If someone is riding my ass most of the time I will just slow down to the point that they will pass me. But I also would call the "man" on this car if you got the tag # and report aggressive driving.

Yes, it ticks you off and makes you want to retaliate.  However, in today's society of mental misfits, career criminals, and gang banger wannabe's running free and killing people for no reason whatsoever, it isn't worth the cost.  Furthermore, if you did catch the guy and whip his ass, how much would you like to bet that you would be the one locked up in jail and the defendant in a civil lawsuit?  T-Mac has the best advice, and we would all be wise to heed it.

I originally started to post something about contacting CHP right after the original post in this thread, but then decided to delete it before hitting the post button.  However, once you have the license number that is in fact the right thing to do.  This person didn't get you, but he may be doing this to plenty of other folks also.  I'd hate to think I had information that might have got him off the road before he pulled this little trick on someone else and killed them, but I failed to pass it along.

I used to retaliate, and we carried used spark plugs in our pockets for those occasions. Once I had to follow a guy until he got stuck at a light, and I dragged him out of the car and beat the chit out of him for trying to run us off the road on purpose. But that was 30 years ago. The world's a different place now, and like was said before, I've way too much to lose now too! Yeah, I get pissed and curse and yell, but I ain't draggin people out of cars no more or assaulting em with spark plugs! I yell, scream and curse, then downshift and GTF out of that situation. Ain't worth it! 99% of the freaking world are f$%*ing assholes now! And they're more dangerous than ever these days!!! :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

We had a guy here in Tucson on a Harley that stopped at a light and said something to this guy in a Van that was driving erratically in traffic and when they took off down the street the guy in the van got behind the bike and rear ended the bike at the next intersection going 50mph. The guy on the bike went flying across the intersection and became part of an on comming cars engine block. The guy in the Van took off but there were plenty of witnesses so the guy was finally caught and is now spending time in the penitentiary. I'm sure he wont make it through his prison time as soon as other bikers doing time find out. Yes you have to choose your battles carefully and bite the bullet sometimes!!!
