 I just started to notice a strange noise from the front end somewhere when you let up on the trottle sounds like a radiator fan coming on. Definatley coming from the front.  The tire looks fine. i noticed when i cycle the front brake the sound changes Im taking it in tommorow so Ill have the dealer look at it any one else have this problem. Oh i have 8600 miles on the bike Im thinking the brake may be dragging.

Regarding the "fan" noise, perhaps someone slipped a V Rod engine in there when you weren't looking.

lol yea.   took it to the dealer they rode it and he didnt  understand what i was telling him it sounded like and he didnt notice anything unusual of course. I rode it from texas to sturgis and back and have almost 9000 miles on it i should know if something sounds different.  So I dont know what to do now. It bothers me.

Yeah, I've always loved that BS from a guy who has never ridden the bike before but after a short cruise down the side street and back he proclaims your problem to be normal.  What's normal is that the typical dealership doofus doesn't have a clue and therefore anything that might require a little brain power and diagnostic time/effort is labeled "normal" or "they all do that".  Meanwhile, the person who really knows what is normal for that bike because he's the one that's been riding it every day is just blown off.

See if your dealership has someone in charge who will listen to you, other than the doofus you already dealt with.  Or try another dealership; there is no requirement that you have to go back to the one you bought the bike from. 

Have them put the bike in the air and spin the front wheel.  If it's a brake pad dragging noise, it will probably be evident even if they can't spin it up very fast.

I didnt buy the bike from them but have been doing alot of buisness with them for years now ill take it back and let someone else look at it i told them that there is something wrong find it.  The mechanic that looked at it im not confident with him anyway he scratched pipes on my rocker and said nothing about it. I need to just tell them dont let him work on it. All my bikes make noises different than the other but i know when one has a different noise im sure they will figure it out

I think I get the same noise. It comes in and out at certain speeds. I have put it down to front tyre tread drum. I have heard it from new.

maybe but i havent noticed it there is alot of noise from this bike so maybe i just didnt hear it but i rode over3000 miles and never noticed it so who knows im going to have them look at it again though

It's the front tire. I am on my second one with 19,000 miles. Both started to whine at about 8500 miles.

Yes, I believe we all know when something is different with our own bikes.

I know you say the tire is fine, but just for chit and giggles run your hand over it and see if it feels bumpy/wavy.

I thought my tire was fine and at 14,000 miles I ran my hand over it.....cupped.  HD replaced it.

If you have a jack raise the bike up and do a visual check and make sure nothing is loose.

Dealers are funny that way, everything to them is normal unless you had to push your bike in. Then they would tell you "Everyone has to do that once in a while", and of course they push the start button after you pushed it a mile and the bike fires right up................seems fine to me.. thanks for stopping by.   
No....that isn't something that happened to me. Certainly wouldn't put that past any dealer.

Well that is questionable with some dealers, I had to make a phone call to MOCO complain, say it shouldn't happen etc. Then I handed the phone to the service dept. (because they were the ones that told me to call) and they gave them a claim # or something to that effect. Walla New tire free of charge.

That is how it went with me, my dealership either hates to love me, or loves to hate me. But they certainly are helpful with certain (most) things.

I hear a lot of Horror stories about dealers on this site, I honestly have to give Kudos to mine, they pretty much are good to go in my book.
