End caps falling off
« on: September 27, 2009, 06:13:39 PM »

Has anyone been having problems with the chrome endcaps on the handgrips coming off ? I have already lost one and my wifes 09 SERG right handgrip cap is lose about to come off aswell. I was just wondering if anyone is having the same issues.

Yep, lost the left side. Dealer replaced it for free. It cost $16 if you have to buy it. They just snap on. I will most likely replace the grips if I lose another.

No problems yet THAT yet. The rubber trim around the fairing, where the two pieces come together, keeps coming off

I've not lost one.... YET

I noticed that my throttle cap was not lined up correctly while cleaning one day. I turned the end cap to line it up and it practially fell off in my fingers. I had no issues with my '08 SERK.

I guess I should lose the one I have now and gat a new that fits tighter

what is it with HD?  First the seats don't fit right, chrome pits on the mirrors and the grip end caps are loose and falling off.

My left one came off while washing. I put a little glue from a hot glue gun on it then put it back on, it made it snug and the glue can be peeled off the plastic when you take it off if you need too.

Yep, I also lost the left side.  Its on the mountian on Hwy 4 just outside of Tahoe.  Dealer ordered and replaced in about a week.

My left side kept coming loose.  I would catch it half-way out.  I put one layer of electrical tape around the tangs and smacked it back in place.  It hasn't tried to come out again.
