End of Reinhart Exhaust?
« on: September 28, 2009, 09:24:31 AM »

Just heard that Reinhart Exhaust is no more.  Drag owned the name, Reinhart designed and Bub manufactured.  Supposedly the partnership broke up.  Going forward, a very similar design exhaust is going to be built? and distributed through LA Choppers.

Just heard

From who?

Someone might just call Bub to see what they say.  It's not like their not listed.  And it'd save a brazillion posts of speculation.

 :cherry:
No great loss from my point of view.  I've got a fairly new '09 SE Ultra and along with V&H header pipes (Power duals),  I had them add the Rinehart mufflers.

I'm already seeing pitting in the chrome tips I had to pay extra to get.  Plus,  after Dyno runs,  the left side (muffler) had to be replaced by the dealer due to yellowing of the chrome finish.

A buddy at a major HD dealership told me that Rineharts were the "worst" brand as far as losing the chrome finish in dyno runs.....they had had to replace several of them.......ended up adding extra fans in the dyno room focused right on the mufflers.

My true dual "calibers" on my old R King never had any problems with the chrome finish.............I'm all done with Rineharts.......will be something else next time. :-\

Your info may not be correct.........

Gerald Reinhart the inventor of the pipes and exhaust systems is a real person who lives in North Carolina in NASCAR heaven. That's where he learned his trade. I don't think Drag specialities owned the name either but I don't know for sure... Myunderstanding was the business got too big for production to continue in North Carolina so they got BUB to build and distribute their products. Then of course Drag Specialties was one of the many Retailers.

The whole thing seemed like a golden egg to me. Just sit back and collect the checks. so why kill the golden goose......

I know about Reinhart and his Nascar roots.  At some point even Colonel Sanders wasn't making chicken.

The real sad thing is that I'll bet it's a function of the current economy.

Cant find any Rinehart offerings on the Bub website so that part of the announcement appears to be correct.

BTW it's Rinehart not Reinhart.

Bubs 7 are suppose to be a very similar design to Rinehart True Duals. Wonder if there was issues between their proprietary line and the Rinehart line? There is no sight of Rinehart on the Bubs site, also I'm not positive on this but didn't they also offer a Rinehart 2:1 line as well??

I heard this rumor too. As I was looking at going back with the Rinehart TD or BUB 7 I emailed BUB. There answer below.

Hello Jeffrey,

The BUB 7 True Duals do have optional sound reducing baffles available. We still manufacture the Rinehart True Duals for your 2008 FL bike. Rinehart Systems are available direct from authorized Drag Specialties Dealers only.

1st and 2nd generation Rinehart baffles do not interchange.

Thank you,
