Don't know if you guys get the news from Australia but we have just had two of the biggest dust storms in (200 years of written) history in Australia - within 3 days. Due to high winds from west to east we have had some of our "red centre" blown all the way to New Zealand.
Our Wagga Wagga HOG Chapter have a monthly Friday night ride. We rode. The air cleaner is OK as we were in the restaurant at the time. Just needed to chamois the seat (black jeans and dust *&%). Our dust storms come with a little rain - just to make the cleaning more enjoyable !!! and another pic. Having a lower Clearview recurve screen allows for vision, not sure that was a selling point at the time !?

I did see that on the news.  They showed Sydney and it looked like out here in Iraq.  The iron in the dirt/dust is what made it orange (in Sydney anyway).  I feel for ya brother.  I guess they don't call it the The Down Under and OZ for nothing.  Maybe it should be called The Down & Dirty.  We've gotten that about 20 times out here so far in Iraq.  Our F-150 looks like that every time it rains, at the same time a major dust storm is moving through.  Mind you, that was this way the whole summer.  The F-150 is Uncle Sam's, so no biggie.  They take the pressure washer to it and walla.  I feel your pain man, if that was my SERK I would have been crying like a baby.  I bet you had to be ever so gentle and soak it down really well first.  I can see that chit scratching everything if you're not gentle/careful ... Did you try tapping your heels three times to see if that would clean it?  Forgive my humor Phoenixbiker.  Sincerely.

I hope it cleaned-up back to normal.  You should post a before and after pic.  That'll be one for the photo album.

17 and a wake-up! and I'm back home AGAIN from the Sand Box ...  Aloha.
