Runnin' Late
« on: September 30, 2009, 01:13:42 PM »

I guess time just gets away from me sometimes.  Either that, or I'm startin' to forget stuff and then remembering it at crucial moments.  Still have that Army issue internal alarm clock, so there's really no excuse for being behind the 8 ball, but this morning.........I was.
Evidently I have become accustomed to working off Redstone Arsenal, which means I've placed those long lines to get on the installation in my distant memory.  Well, it dawned on me this morning, and although I made it to where I needed to be on time, I did so by the skin of my teeth.  The events leading to it are interesting tho', at least to me.
So, I had to be on Redstone Arsenal by 0800, and I figured this out at 0655 as I'm finishing my "S" chores.  I still had to run by my office and pick up a few things before going onto the Arsenal, and.....oh yeah....might be a good idea to get the weapons out of the truck too.   :2vrolijk_21:  So I'm hoppin' in the truck at 0705 about to start the 20 mile trek to my office, and Renea runs outside with my lunch pail.  "Thanks Sweetie," as I mash the garage door button, and I rattle down the driveway leaving her in a plume of #2 diesel smoke.  I made it on the Arsenal with 2 minutes to spare.  Whew!
So.......I got back to my office a few minutes ago and called Renea.  She was none too happy.  Seems when I closed the garage door, I had locked her out of the house.  She said she was runnin' after me wavin' her arms, and I just kept on going.  She's a smart lady tho'.  Her truck was locked, so she couldn't open the garage door that way.  So she goes around to the back door and tries to crawl through the doggie door.  Easy fit for her, but the Boxers were snarling and barking.....at her!  Though she tells me they never lunged or tried to bite, she said their hackles were up, and they were putting on a display of ferocious behavior that would certainly deter the unknowing.  It intimidated her.  She ended up getting enough of herself through the doggie door to unlock the back door and enter the house that way.
I think I'm in trouble.   :-\

I read this, and chuckle, and two things come to mind.

Does this mean our run to Memphis is off this weekend?

If I ever come to visit you, and you're not there, mind if I squeeze my fat ass through the doggy door?

Henry

So your in the doghouse.

Time to get that 1998 FLT Anniversary bike.

Anyone know of a carbed 98 FLT in anniversary colors Henry could get a deal on?

He's already in trouble, and he feels real bad about what happened.

A new bike always makes me feel better, it will work for him also.

Henry, we actually saw one at Wheels Through Time on Friday but it was injected.

Started to ask but I don't think he ever sells his bikes.

Renea is working until 2100 tonight.  Spoke with her when I was on my way home.  She was already at work.  And she was just as sweet as she could be.........abnormally so, which is odd.  For those of you who have met and know my Lovely Bride, you know she is a really sweet Lady.  But when we spoke on the phone earlier, she was laying it on THICK!

Guys, I'm in deep Kimchi here.  Renea is an accomplished seamstress.  She is also quite deadly with any bullet launcher.

I've often heard her say, "You've got to go to sleep sometime."

If you don't hear from me tomorrow, likely I've been sewn into the bed and allowed to sleep until my Army issue internal alarm clock says "Wake Up, Bonehead!"  That will be the moment at which she will begin the bludgeoning with the lead filled club I made for her 10 years ago.   :nervous:

I'm pretty sure those flowers I brought home aren't gonna cut it.........and I'm the only person I know who screws up boiling water.

I've already told my Brother he might have to make the Malden trip.   :nervous:   :huepfenlol2:

Damn I'm hungry.
