Strange that they would change the harness like that as not all Ultras have the rear amp, and it's not like them to make changes that make things more difficult/expensive for themselves! Have you looked inside the rear speaker pods to see how they've done it there? On 09 and earlier, there's a little extra male and female plug harness that goes inline to "inject" the extra wires....

I agree...it is very strange. I have opened both rear speaker pods. There is no alternative connector to plug into the speaker. The only connection available to plug into the rear speakers comes from the large gang plug that attaches to the rear amp. No rear amp... no audio signal to the rear speakers.
Since I used the audio outputs from the radio to power the front speakers, there's also no audio signal to the rear amp. So even if the amp is plugged in and the rear speakers are connected, there's no audio signal for the amp to send to the speakers.
I tried some experimenting last night. Tell me if this is crazy. I connected the Biketronics right and left inputs AND the rear speaker amp left and right channels into the same (left and right) outputs from the radio harness in the fairing. With the rear amp and rear speakers connected, I had all four speakers working and the radio fader "functioned" as well. Essentially the rear fader only faded the rear speakers since the front speakers are now powered by the BT's amp.
If this setup is OK it should allow me to still have the TP detachable (once I figure out how to attach the rear amp to the new TP bracket) since the rear speakers, antennas and amp are all "Plug & Play". The dealer has already made a single gang plug for all the electricals (brake light, TP LEDS, 12v plug, interior light, & saddle bag lights). So if this wiring for the amp works without throwing an error code (or blowing up the radio???), it should enable me to have four speakers working when the TP is attached and 2 high powered speakers up front whether or not the TP (rear amp) is attached.
Anyone see a problem with the same L/R outputs from the radio driving both the front and rear amps/speakers???
