Fatboy -

Thanks for the explanation.  Maybe we need to arrange the comparison test I suggested above.  First thing is to nominate spokespersons for the group:  Hubbard and Otis get my vote.  What manufacturer's P.R. guy could possibly resist their persuasiveness?  And if it's a P.R. gal, forgetaboutit....we're In Like Flint.

Otis, I'm with you.

Hubbard--do you have the J&S jack shown in the promotional information on their site?

I got my piece of crap lift from Harbor Freight and tool.....

There is nothing available at Harbor Freight that is of suitable quality to work on our bikes.

Come to think of it, there is nothing of suitable quality at all.

Sam's club has one for $89 with movable out riggers for more stability.  Have used it on both my baggers, with no problem.  You can get the lifts under your bike by standing the bike upright with you on it.  Then pull the lift under the bike with your foot.  Not a major task, and you don't fight the block of wood to get it centered.

I just bought a dunwell model 2000 jack and I am very satisfied with it.  It is expensive compared to many of the lifts posted here, but the lift will slide under the SEEG without blocking the bike, extremely stable (don't need tie downs), four hd caster wheels so you can move the bike around.  Even comes with an oil pan (optional) that slides under the lift for fluid changes.  Quality and customer service first class.  My personal opinion is I'm not going to put my $30K bike on a $90 lift.

Just in case anyone else is interested in buying the dunwell for your SEEG, order with the dyna head (no additional cost).  I ordered mine with the standard head, but discovered it is too wide to fit in the "bowtie" crossmember, so while it will work, the jack is too far forward for my comfort.  Called Dunwell, explained the situation.  They sent me the dyna head, no questions asked, just asked me to return the standard head.  This is good customer service and the dyna head works perfect!

No response from them at all.   That being said I may try talking to Dunwell instead.

Any of the recommended jacks have an issue with installed True-Track or Ride-Straight stabilizers?

From my experience, the sweet spot for balance requires the rear leg of the lift to fit into the "dog bone"

I have a Pit Bull lift made in Dover,TN. This particular model was designed to lift a FXDL. No problems fitting under my 2004 SEEG, or the wifes Street Glide that is even lower than mine. Stability is great. Right now there is a 2002 FLHT with no front end on it and with no straps. I have had this lift for 2 years now and believe I paid 300 for it. Would recomend it to everyone.

My old Harley Davidson brand "crank it up by hand" fits right under the frame rails and into the "Dog Bone" for best balance point.
That's the most important reason I installed the Ride-Str8. It dosen't take up the space in the "bone". It's the old style old school lift. They still sell 'em.
