Unused plug under seat on accessary switch?
« on: October 12, 2009, 05:27:16 PM »

2010 SEUC. I've completed the Fulsac baffel conversion and removing the converter core now on to other projects. Is there a switched plug under the seat for the accessary switch on the panel? If not, what"s the best way to access the switch wiring? I'm going to put LED's on the frame and tank to shine on the motor.

If it hasn't been moved from it's stock position, it's under the left side cover.

Left side cover?  No way.  The switched accessory plug is under the seat, just in front of the battery.  Pay no attention to the owners manual.  It's wrong.

I have actually seen these plugs both under the seat forward of the battery and under the side cover.
I think the one under the seat is controlled by the switch.  Not sure about the other.

There is only 1 plug, whether it happens to be under the cover or under the seat.  It has 2 power terminals and one ground.  One terminal is switched by the accessory switch, the other is ignition switched.

Have things really changed from the earlier models? One 4 way: brake/running/ground and acc. switched hot.  One single: b+ connector

This has confused me as well.  When I got my 2008 SEUC, the heated seat would only work with the accessory switch on.  I learned on this forum that was a known problem and to have the dealer plug the seat into the 'unswitched' plug on the next service -- which I did.  I've subsequently been under the seat a couple of times and looked for the 'switched' plug, but I've never found it.  There is a plug under the left side cover just above the diagnostics plug, but I'm not sure the pin pattern matches.  Where do they normally hide both plugs if you don't have a heated seat?

OK......I'm confused. Under the left cover i find two grey plugs. One has a module pluged into it, the other has a removable rubber plug which I assumed is the dia. plug. Under the seat I find a dead end two wire plug pluged into a cover that is attached to the battery cover but when I test it with a light, it's not cycling with the switch. One of the wires is yellow or yellow and grey.....I'm trying to remember I'm not at the bike. Anyhow I'm confused which is not unusual.

Unless the pin out of the accessory plug has changed that's not it.  Might be your data plug.  Accessory plugs carry (or at least used to carry) one switched power, brake light, tail light and a ground.  Data plug and accessory plug are the same sized Deutsch connector so easy to confuse the two.

Now that everybody has found the extra plug....What else can you use it for beside the LED lights?
