I currently ride a SEUC - 2008, have had three of 'em...also had a 2003 SE Duece.

If you like Springers, these are the ones to have... I couldn't be happier with mine.

Napalm,

I have an '08 SEUC and an '07 Springer.  I love both bikes, but they are very different in their ride and handling (and of course, there's the style and wheel differences between the '07 and the '09 Springers).  I mostly use the Springer around town.

I'd also point out that I've become nearly addicted to a windshield for speeds over 55-60 mph...something you may (or not) have noticed since your Deuce-days.  IMO, the Springer looks best without any windshield, and even the smaller deflectors, like the WindVest 10 inch (which I have for my Springer), are marginal for both looks and actual wind deflection.

Oh BTW:  absolutely NO storage space until you add a frame cannister or travel bag and/or luggage rack--there's barely room to stash my insurance and registration under the seat.

With all that said, everybody who sees it says how gorgeous it is... :)   Good luck with your decision.

DoubleChop,

I rode my SE Duece around town mostly, a go fast bike....take the SEUC on long rides.  I had the Chrome Cannister on my Duece for the registration....

Hope to pick the Springer up next week, done deal though!!!

Napalm,

I didn't see your post saying you pulled the pin for the Springer--must've had an "un-refreshed" web page on screen.  Doesn't matter; sounds like your usage is like mine.

Enjoy the new bike.  Springers rule in town!

You will not be disappointed, around town or on the road. Just need a little prep for longer trips. 6 days on the road from Phoenix to Omaha and back. No problems at all.  Small throw over saddle bags and a biker buddy. Can be ready to roll in 15 minutes. For weekend rides (400 miles or so) just use the buddy, good back support and plenty of storage. Not the most attractive i know but the price was right. You're gonna dig it! Be Safe.

napalm she is a beauty!!! :-*
i went with the cobalt blue and cant wait to ride her, she has been patiently waiting on me to get home for 2 months so i can break her in! whats funny is i got this bike for 2 reasons...1. i fell in love with the springer at first sight. 2. i figured being a CVO i wouldn't have to kill my wallet customizing her.
i am beginning to think i was wrong on number 2, already thinking about mods like exhaust(naturally) and maybe apes or buckhorns. i am so sure i am gonna get the wife steamed at me in the next few years!
put some miles on your gorgeous bike for me and stay safe!

I am lucky enough to have a Roadking and Springer. Both Bikes I Love to Ride. It is impossible to compare the two. The Roadking on the road is unbelievable. The Springer is nimble and a real head turner. I was at a Car and Motorcycle Show last weekend. I had more people stopping and checking my Bike out up on the hill. Than what was checking what was in the show. I really don't think that you will be disappointed. With the FXSTSSE.
