I think it's good our way. We all know we live in the United States of the offended. I believe we are all capable of taking a little ribbing, adds to the fun. AND I'M NOT YELLING JUST TO LAZY TO HIT THE CAP KEY. :duhk:

I joined this forum 6 years ago which also coincides with the last time I read or at least was exposed to the forum rules.  In reading the rules as copied from another forum I find them to be as  common sense as not sneezing in someones face or riding your bike with no oil pressure.  Most folks with common sense will regard them as such and take no offense; however, there are a few who are not as blessed and for those, a refresher serves us all.

Chill, this is not a constitutional question.

I couldn't help but think of a certain Seinfeld episode when I was reading this post. You know the one... when he had sex under his desk with the female janitor? His defense was, that no one told him he couldn't, so he thought it must have been ok. To some, the obvious isn't so obvious. I roll my eyes every time I hear a supervisor say in a staff meeting, "Company computers are not for personal use, so don't look up porn on them". WTF? Who in their right mind, would anyway? But I guess, some do. That's why there's printed instructions on shampoo bottles.

Re-reading VaEagle's original post on this thread......it doesn't appear that he's asking for more rules.  Rather it looks like he simply posted "forum etiquette".  Big difference between rules and etiquette.  At any rate, it's sure been fuel for thought and thought provoking. :2vrolijk_21:

For those who never visit the FAQ (frequently asked questions) board and for those who don't update theirselves from time to time on the rules of posting on this forum.........and only if you're curious as to what they are, you can find them here.......  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=2539.0

ding ding ding.....JCZ you got my thought process!  :2vrolijk_21:

I mainly posted this info as food for thought and discussion NOT to ask for more rules and regulations. This is not my website and I am happy with the admin and what goes on here.
I also wanted to get the different opinions from a biker viewpoint vs. the truck website that I first saw this info.
FYI the truck website thread was viewed as much as this thread has been but not much negative posts. They seem to think of the points as good things to follow and just common courtesy ideas.
As I guessed this site has more "free spirits" and varied opinions.

I am thinking if we were Indians (or Native Americans?) many of us would have the name "Runs with scissors!"

Thanks for the opinions.

Well I was guilty of assuming also........but I swear it's the first time I ever did that! :huepfenlol2:  So, I stand to be corrected myself and I apologize.

It was/is great food for thought and we do need to keep in mind that the net is as vast as the universe and others may not think something's funny just because I do.  That's why I always use the laughing face or smiley face......just to be clear to the person on the other end.  I've learned to filter a lot, too.......maybe I just won't post "I think that's a stupid idea" or "I think that thing looks hideous and you should get it off of there before somebody sees it", etc. etc.  I try to only post from a positive perspective now compared to a few years back and I just hope that it's received that way. :nixweiss:

By the way.........that truck forum.....was it NHTOC?  I was a moderator there for the first couple of years, too.
