Just picked up on this thread, I like the sounds of this shield, got to wonder how the rain rolls off if it though. I wonder how much pooling affect it will give to the corners. If anybody here has had this shield in the rain and how does it handle it, I'd like to know. Lower shield out of the line of sight and still wind breaking, that's to cool.

I sure would like to see this hit the group buy section, seeing as it will more than likely be a big hit.

Handles rain pretty much like any other shield at speed.  The lip isn't drastic, but does make a big difference breaking the wind.

FR8TRN,
I am going to get one for sure, maybe a couple for height changes. I like the appearance first of all, and then the added benefit of the wind deflecting with out the shield in your face. Still rain and bugs and other solid objects, I would think will still whack you. I've gotten real used to not having to worry about bug juice cologne.
So the taller shield will stay on for the worst part of that season 8-)

I finally rode with mine today (34*), up to 70 mph, and am happy with my purchase.  I'm 6'1" and looked over the windshield at least 1.5" with no problem.  With the 10.5" with lip, it seemed (wind wise) the same as the 12" on the Ultra I rode.  Much better than the HD 9.5" I took off.

Mine is 9.5" (uhh, just checked with my wife, I'm definately talking about the shield here) and I look over it pretty good, I get hit by a stray bug or two, but not often, and they usually hit me right between the helmet and the glasses, figures.  Haven't found the need for multiple sizes, this one is short enough to look good on the bike and tall enough to keep the major wind off of me and my wife.

Thanks for the compliment, you have the Glide I let get away.  Had money down on a Black and Blue back in 2003, then decided to buy a regular '04 Ultra instead of waiting the 2 months for it to come in.  That has to be the sharpest color combo to date, wish they'd of had it for '06.

FR8TRN,
Well the height change will work for me during this time of the year to keep as much cold air from hitting me is all good. I've only just this year picked up the heated gloves and have yet to get the rest. That euro lip on my 10 size would be ideal for this season then yank it off for the smaller one for the warm season. Go to the mini black stock one for the hot times. They change out so easy, might as well have the options. IMHO ;)

MYCVO-Regarding windnoise, it was much quieter than the HD 9.5" I used in the fall (noise/turblence over helmet).

Talked to John on the phone last Thurs.  He's getting with his partner on the idea of a member discount for this site and will get back to me.  He said they like the idea of that and was definately interested in such a coveted market.

I'll post it in the selling thread and a note here, when he gets back to me. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I also have contacted John and was seriously considering placing an order based on what I have read here. I will hold off and see what deal is forthcoming

Cheers

Just put on a 13 inch model on the SEEG.  Like the heighth since I'm 6'1" and sit a bit higher with the Mustang seat.  Very good on the highway.  Quiet and does not seem prone to buffeting around trucks like the 12 inch HD screen.  However, the wife notices a great deal more breeze.  Suspect the windscreen curve creates a wind effect over the riders head directly onto the passenger.  Still like it though!
