It is mounted directly to the fender using only the plate frame. It is drilled through the fender and lower internal support bracket.

Backed with cork/rubber gasket material (NAPA) cut to the frame size.

I cut the connector off the factory plug and soldered it together covered in shrink tube (ACE Hardware)

Re utilized the factory cover in the fender to cover the wiring.

I removed the factory LED module and intend to install it inside my detach Tour Pak

Yes it its in fact the Kuryakyn 9182

i was able to gently remove the deutsch connector, and solder on the new plate wiring i like the ease of the connectors

they are pretty easy to work with. It's definitely worth the result

absolutely, the stealerships have the connectors for like $1.25, they are much easier to work with than soldering/wireless connectors underneath that fender.

There are actually 2 different parts for the connector, there is the outer and inner part, I couldn't tell you the exact names/numbers of the parts, but I do have them (they are on my workbench at home, and I am at my mom and dads for X -mas!)  but I will get them as soon as I can!

I actually have a spare inner part for the Deutsch connector on that tail light, if you want it, I will send it to you for free when I get home(it was on;y $.30) !!  Just give me a few days if you have the patience!

I have the other 3 parts 2 pins and outer shell they came to a whoppin $3.79

Least I ever spent at the parts counter of an HD dealer. Sorry no numbers but they are listed in the 2010 SESG parts supplement at the dealer.

Question for all those who have added this Kury 9182 Curved Frame... Is there drilling required in order to utilize the backing plate bracket? It looks to me from what i can see on the net that the bracket has 3 holes in it... an the fender has 2... can they be used? Or if drilling IS required, can you drill the bracket to match holes in the fender rather than drilling the fender to match the bracket?

I haven't got the bike in my garage yet and my dealership will install it for me n/c if i buy the parts through them (kind of a deal they have when you buy a new bike... discounted parts or free labour)... i'd like to coach them in the right direction...

Jim (hd-dude) wired mine and this was his reply:  The LED Plate frame is a Kury 9182, It does require drilling new mount holes in the fender and wiring the deusch connector for the light. When I installed this one I also modified and re-used the support plate under the fender to retain the plastic housing that protect the wires and connector. Also had JC run to the local hardware store to pick up a 9/16" black plastic hole plug to hide the hole where the original wire went through.

We are good to go!! I also considered just mounting it flush without the bracket but drilling it that way just seems a little barbaric to me.

Just FYI...

Not sure if this is a Canadian thing or not, but if you use the 9182 with the mounting bracket, it does NOT cover bothe the 9/16 hold and the dimple at the bottom of the fender with the rivet. As this dimple is painted and harder to see unless bike is on a hoist, i've chosen to cover the top hole leaving as littel of the dimple exposed as possible.

Here is mine ... it was originally a 9182 and then I did a little work to it. Once you nut up enough to break out the drill - sure looks nice so tight to the fender.
