2009 Indy Car Finale in Homestead

Went to Hot Homestead to team up with the boys with Foyt Racing for some open wheel action a couple weeks ago. Could not find a good set up with the car for practice and Qualifing and started 21st. Raceday was a different story as the car came around half way thru the race, and was running laps as fast as the leader.  Ended up finishing 13 to a first time in Indy car history a non caution race. I think everyone wanted the year to be over with and to get the car home in one piece. Was a bad year for the team with several DNF's and crashes.
On the good side I hooked up some good friends of all of ours, that came to the race...... can you tell who this is getting her arms around old AJ.  :nixweiss:

Had a 8 year old boy from the "Make A Wish Foundation" that stole my heart race day in the garage. So I invited him in and asked him if he wanted to get in the Car......... I quess you know the answer.I Picked him up out of wheelchair and sat him in the cockpit with pride. I dont know who enjoyed it more me or him, but I got teary eyed watching him and he didnt want to get out. Imagine that. What a great memory that boy got that day. On top of that getting a ride in the Indy car 2 seater and one of the guys gave hime a team jersey, plus meeting several drivers.   ;D
