Extended Saddlebags
« on: October 31, 2009, 09:30:16 AM »

I have an 07 serk, black ice, and am considering purchasing extended bags from Milwaukee Baggers and having Gene do a nice matching paint scheme. Does anyone have any comments or pictures they would like to share? Thanks for your help.

I was going to go with a similar route too, but decided on the new HD extended bags on my '08 FLHX.

I purchased a new set from  TOPSHOPCARBON.com    in Mitchel SD. last year.    full extended bags with storage in the lower section.  check them out for yourself.   I love them.  they come in primer ready to paint.  I bought a used set of lids on e-bay (cheap)   and Gene painted everything.                                                                       can see more pics here

Are my eyes seeing things? I see a little extra something something under these bags. 8) Now I have to wash my eyes out with soap!

Thanks for your pics HarleyTeam. Really looks great! Did you say you have the embossed flames on the lids? Any pics? Did you order the saddlebag crashbars through HD?

go to - topshopcarbon.com

they were $999.00 a set , of new bags in primer, with the carpet inside.(no lids)  this was in July of 08.

I have the embossed flames on the lids  (this was originally Hoist's idea)  no pics
got the crash bars used on e-bay

the little extra is under the fender,  not the bags.

I have the Milwaukee Baggers bags on my bike. I looked at several sets of bags when I was shopping and IMO NONE of the others even came close to the MB bags. Most of them are fiberglass and rough at that. This IMO is why most of them are carpeted. The RTM bags from MB are like the new style HD bags, smooth. I run air ride on my bike so I'm able to air the bike up while riding to prevent them from scraping, for the most part. I originally had the bag extensions but could not handle how in certain temps you could see the seem while other days they looked great.

That really looks good Puzzled! Are those the skid plates on the bottom of the bags? Is there a big scrapping issue? I understand that the MW Baggers is one of Gene's favorites to paint. I don't know if it is my screen or not but the far right side of your pics is cut off. Would love to see a rear end shot, of course of your bike!!! (I'd better be specific). I also agree with you about the add on extensions. Got to be seamless!!!!! Thanks for your advice.
