I may have found my bike.
« on: November 03, 2009, 01:05:02 AM »

Well gents the weeks just keep clicking by and I still don't have or even know when it will get here. I talked to Julie yesterday from the Dealership and she thought the bike would have showed up at there dock this past Monday because the projected ship date from York was last Monday the 26th. But I guess that's why they call it PROJECTED. But, I may now have a few clues that I can go by. My new HOG magazine came yesterday and if you turn to page 7 you will see Terri is still Pinstripping a front fender. Who knows that could be mine but I hope not. Well, they say that good things come to thoughts who wait. So until it get here I will keep adding to my CVO starter kit. Oh, my latest addition is bag stands, now I can't wait to put them to good use.

Does your dealer have the VIN # yet ??  That's the best news you can get and the bike will usualy arrive within a week or so from the dealer getting the #. Good luck. I remember my wait. Placed a deposit in August 05 and recieved the bike in Feb of 06. Plus I sold my trade in Sept, so I was without a ride for a while. Seemed like forever as I look back. In the end, it's all worth it.

Remember the wait time back in the 90's ?? I remember the days you had to place a $1,000 deposit and wait 12-15 months..and they wouldn't tell ya a thing on your delivery until it was delivered, prepped and ready to go out the door.  Thats what it took me to get a 96 Softail Classic back then. And the resale was always better then what ya paid..

The wait from hell,,All worth it,, your going to love that new ride..  :2vrolijk_21:

Congratulations.

Now that you have your VIN, it's only a few days shipping til you get it. Congratulations.

Is that the norm hard10, I was afraid to ask because I was not sure I wanted the answer. This is the first bike I ever had to order so I really don't know what to expect. All I know is that I'm counting the days. I even got a new leather jacket, man am I ate up or what, LOL

Once you have the VIN, it means that it has shipped out of the factory. It now goes onto the truck and depending on routing, should be at the dealer in a few days. Have your salesperson call you when it comes in so you can be there to take pictures of it being uncreated. It's a momentous moment!

If they could service the bike while in transit, that could save you a couple of hours. ;D

No could not get in the Military because they don't take guys with Brain Tumors. I want to follow in my dads steps, USMC. That was over 28 years ago, I'm fine so I could have.

Chris,

After you sent me that PM I found this post.  Looks like it shouldn't be too much longer now.  Look at the bright side at least you'll have yours before me. :2vrolijk_21:

Lots of pictures....    I expect nothing less.

I remember the year long wait for a 1996 Heritage Softail way back then...  By the time I actually took possesion of the bike, I had a line on a new bagger.  So I sold the Heritage a few months after I received it - for a few thousand more than I paid for it...  The buyer was happy to get it at the price he paid.  Timing was with me with that exchange...

Congrats Chris...you're on the downside now that you have the VIN #.  It won't be much longer now before you're taking that great first ride on your new SEUC.    It'll take at least three days to get the smile off of your face, and you'll find yourself wondering out to the garage every once in a while to just stand and stare at the bike and knowing it's yours.  It's a great feeling....enjoy the rush, and above all, don't forget to provide us plenty of pics.  The Burnt Amber/Citrus is by far the best color of the 2010 SEUCs...the marbling effect they do on the flames is outstanding.  You're gonna love it.!!!   :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks Devil, and still to this day I have not seen the Amber in person. I seen the Red and Blue but not my first choice. I'm really looking forward to spending more time in the Man Cave Garage this winter. I can see myself now with that deer in the head light look and that blank stair. I know I have told you before that you have the best of both worlds, you have my favorite two colors on your SEUC Black Ice and Orange, and then what can I say Cap'n Morgan just bad ass. The Director of our HOG Chapter has the same color of your SEUC, what a great looking bike.  :2vrolijk_21:
