Still Slowest Traffic...?
« on: December 24, 2005, 05:57:48 AM »

Okay, I know this is more photo related...but, we need to get some discussions going on this board! So, here is me on my FXR2. I bought it very very stock about 9 months ago and did a few tasteful (IMHO) mods to it. Kuryakyn forwards, Vance and Hines short shots (I wanted to show off the wheel/swingarm/etc.), cam/pushrods, Ignition, coil, and a couple of chrome bits from the Harley Bible. And, just to do away with the one Hucking Farley aspect of the bike...I got rid of the mis-matched chrome/rubber grips and went billet wide to match all the foot controls.

So, what do you think? I know...there's probably 200-300 that are pretty much like it out there. But, I do have all the original parts tucked away safely in the rafters (even bought a replacement set of grips in case I ever need to get it back to 100% stock). Give me some feedack...

Looks good, Ron.  You've got to make it 'your own' ..... and that individual pride in the way you change your scooter to fit you and your personality is what sets the true enthusiast and addicted  apart from all the other riders out there.  ;) har! spyder

That's the bare, unpainted or chromed, end of a cable clamp.

Are the tabs on it long enough to mount it inboard of the tank?

Gotta do something........I doubt it'll route inboard of the tank, but that'd be nice.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, FXRon2,
Welcome to the Site!  That's a good lookin' Scoot!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] I like the way it's lo-slung in the rear.  Have fun!  Do it WFO!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Later--HUBBARD

Yeah, 'er 'uh, RedFXR2,
Your Motorsickle looks good, man!  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] Isn't something different on it, or about it, than when we were in Maggie Valley?  I love those Bikes.  Just can't have one.  Too agile.  Hurt Ol' Hub!  :'( You can throw those Bikes in a curve anyway you want too!  Later--HUBBARD

Thanks Hubbard....
About the "low slung" look of my FXR2...

Well, it's actually a combo of the fact that the FXR2/3/4's came with low profile rear suspensions....and, that my 6'2" 220lb ass is is proving Sir Isaac Newton was right...lol....

Thanks for eye'ing that...  :-[

About the handling...yes, that bike is tight...It's not quite my '02 VFR800 Interceptor, but it does carve and shoot out of a turn better than the other 12-14 Harleys I've ridden. I bought the bike on reputation alone. And I've never been sorry!

Nope.  Good idea, but theres a spacer of some sort between the frame and the tank.  No room to squeeze the clamp in between.

Maybe if it was black it'd just 'go away'....you know how something painted flat black on a scooter just 'disappears' in the shadows.
