Thanks for the pics. I am supprised that the round black cap covering the sounder (first pic, inside - epoxied to the cover) has not separated from the sounder. I would think that the weight of the horn and bouncing around might separate the the unit from the epoxied sounder cap.
But obviously, it's held up for you.

The sounder was placed in to a large wad of epoxy.  Doesn't show up well but it became a mostly solid unit connecting the body of the horn bellows to the horn cover.  I scooped out a small area around the black piece itself thinking it might need to vibrate.  The horn is in there very securely though.

I pop the cover off to take a look each spring as part of the spring maintenance.  After several years now no signs of cracking in the epoxy and nothing pulled loose.  It's been good.

Since the compressor is remote from the horn now short of something physically breaking there's really nothing to fail in the horn cover either.  So it should be like the energizer bunny, just keep going and going and going and going.

This is a pic of the (2) sounder covers removed. It is the cover itself I was wondering if you removed or left in place when epoxying.

I left it on.  Since the epoxy wasn't set up yet when it all smushed in place I left it there just in case the cavity I'd created wasn't quite to spec.  Figured it'd keep the epoxy out of those places it obviously should not be.

The "inner" cover closest to the cylinders and exposed is still in place without issue.  Eyeball inspections each year suggest the "outer" cover buried inside the horn cover is also.  No movement I have ever been able to tell either visually or with a small probe.

Cool, thanks. I can't work on it 'till next week. I'll let you know how it goes.

Will be curious about how it fits in the other cover.  Options for future hare brained ideas that might strike me use are always a good thing :2vrolijk_21: .

hornblasters.com, don't think it would fit but by God, that is a horn.  Watch a few of their videos and you'll see.

I had the mini beast, even took it off my last bike to put it on this one.  Stock horn on the 2010 is louder than on my 07, and I think just about as loud as my 1.5 year ol mini, and yes, it was plastic....

I was kind of hoping if I just kept writing, you would get the red heart installed on your niece's bike first.   :)  :)  :)

I won't even see her today.  That happens surprisingly rarely when I'm in town.  She'll call before bedtime tonight though :2vrolijk_21: .

Was just going to post to see how many out there changed to air horns.  I am very interested in a high decibel good looking setup.  Count me in.
