O
I gave Pro Pad a call to ask if I could still get the original Mini Beast as I wanted one that was as small as possible. The person I spoke to said they were no longer available however there were plans to release a new cover design that more closely matched the CVO's air cleaner and was smaller than the current offerings. The new model was on the drawing boards and could get into production faster if there was enough interest. That was really good news as I did not think any of the current designs was right for my ride.

So if you want to see the new model sooner rather than later give them a call and let them know. I believe the name of the person heading up the development is Bob, but I am sure anyone there should be able to provide more information.

Mike V.

If anyone calls them, point them in the direction of this thread. If 9 pages of chatter about their regular horns doesn't give them an idea of how much intrest there would be in something more CVO specific, I don't know what would. I'd buy one!

I doubt that they would make one "CVO Specific".  I don't think that the manufacturing costs would be worth it.  Who would buy them but us?

Maybe the same ones that buy the CVO specific parts to change their non-CVO bikes.  :-\  spyder

I don't think Mike said it would be CVO specific. What he said was they were planning another housing that was more compact similar to the original Mini Beast but styled differently. Based on his description I mentioned that it might be a better compliment to the CVO models and he agreed. Obviously the new model can not be any smaller than the underlying Stiebel horn, but they will try to make it as compact as possible. Bob is the person at Pro Pad that has the design but have not gotten around to putting it in prodiction yet.

I am personally going to wait and see what the new one looks like. I really want to get the stock horn upgraded but so far I am not crazy about the current styles. They are very nice, just not for me.

With all the safety requirements our government has imposed on vehicle manufacturers, you'd think that motorcycle horns would be on the list of "safety items".  It's a shame that we have to upgrade our horns so that we are safer on the roadways.  Sad but true!

The current horn is the one thing on the bike that I never know if it will honk or sound like it's trying to clear it's throat

Here's an interesting update. I was in my local custom light shop and noticed this baby on the display wall. It looks very close to the original HD cowbell and I believe it has the same Stiebel horn underneath. Side by side this one looked to be about 25% bigger. Has anyone seen this one before? I think I may pull the trigger on this one.

They also do skulls, flames, trumpets and more...here's the linkhttp://www.customdynamics.com/metal_arts_air_horns.htm
Though to my eye, I prefer the Mini Beast II
