hawg wired tweeter pods
« on: November 10, 2009, 01:03:33 AM »

I just recieved my copy of American Bagger and their was a article on Hawg Wired new Tweeter Pods. It was informitive if I wanted to put them on my SG but I'm guessing they won't fit on my SEUC because of the padded dash. Does anyone know a alt other than Hogtunes or am I being a little anal.... ? Guess I'll give Jim HD-dude a call for an update. Was looking forward to trying the new system just wasn't aware the padded dash was a conflict.  :nixweiss:  :-\   Jon

To my knowledge....Dash Pad comes off if you are using the set-up you described.

2 screws behind the Batwing removes it quite easily.

I didn't see the article but as far as the pods go was it worth getting? does it make a difference?

Ok I was just on the Hawg Wired site and did not find anything. I wrote a note to one of the owners and will advise on any info that comes back.

I believe that Tweeter Pods are a Hogtunes product, not Hawg Wired.

I thought the same too but Hawg Wired has been changing a few things and maybe they are exploring this too. :nixweiss:

I have the Hogtunes tweeter pod on my '08SEUC in place of the padded dash above the instrumentation.  Installed at Carolina Coast HD in under 1 hour.  I am very pleased with the sound and the appearance.

This has been in the works for a while now. I have seen and heard beta products and they are impressive. Hawg-Wired is using a very high quality tweeter in these units. The product release was not scheduled for a few weeks but the article came out sooner that expected.

Jon, you are correct. Hawg wired tweeter pods are individual (as opposed to Hag pods which are a single unit w/2 tweeters) tweeter pods with crossovers. Just remove the padded dash and save it for when you sell the bike. I don't know how my inner paint looks like under the dash pad after 2 1/2 years but yours should still look good!

If you pick up a copy of American Bagger Magazine they did a teck report on a complete install of Hawg wired tweeter pods. It shows a step by step install of them. I'm really enjoying all the articles and ideas in that mag..... :2vrolijk_21: Jon

I read the article also and unfortunately it does not look like they will fit with the dash pad in place.

Anyone with a pic from the magazine?  Have not gotten my copy yet.
Have removed dash pad to put T-Bag windshield bag on and from the sounds
of these tweeters...that is what I need to cover up the scuffs and holes
from the dash pad.
Thanks,
TimBone

Thinking you are outta luck, these fit in the upper curved part of the fairing, right where your windshield bag fits.
